What we Do

We manage EGEA’s technical infrastructure and are responsible for all the visual looks of EGEA! You want to know how? Let’s have a look!

EGEAs website is based on WordPress and PHP. We take care of the most important webpages and provide guidance for entities and members to create their own. By designing and maintaining principal pages and functions like the login, event registration, integrated maps, underlying databases etc., we ensure that Egeans stay connected and organised.

Our Google Workspace is where we and the entirety of EGEA think up new ideas, design new projects and log progress. Additionally, we as the DigiComm Team take on the administrative role and fulfill the classical technical chores like e.g. managing accounts.

We run a Discord Server for EGEA’s organisational bodies and members. Among other things, we are currently in the development process of a Discord bot that will assist us in the user management.

Our partner Esri was kind enough to set up an EGEA-ArcGIS-Organisation and to sponsor a considerable amount of licenses for countless products of their lineup that can be used either in ArcGIS Online or as a Desktop application.

As the name of our Team maybe suggests, we offer general technical support to all members.
There is a Ticket submission form that can be used to file a request, e.g. for improvement of a certain feature, totally new features or simply to report a bug that you encountered.

Besides all the technical stuff, we are also responsible for many of the visual aspects of EGEA. We handle everything by the visual guidelines, is it presentation templates, website design, logos and so on. Besides logos, if you need help to design a new logo or to redesign one, feel free to reach out to us!

Current projects

EGEA Discord Server

We created a Discord Server where members of the association with official positions are assigned roles and can access voice channels and chats specific to their function. The current goal is to replace the manual moderation with a Discord bot, that will automatically validate a persons role in EGEA when they try to join the server.
