HOW TO GET TO ROŽŇAVA?

We have prepared Excel for the easiest course of your journey, where you will find detailed connections from individual destinations that can be helpful to you. Have a safe journey and see you in the Slovak Karst!

Rožňava is located in the edge of Slovakia, so getting here can be quite tricky. But don’t worry, we have a couple of tips on how to handle your journey as comfortable as possible! If you are traveling from Bratislava you can use direct buses (which early in the morning at 5:30 and 6:30). The bus will bring you to Rožňava and you have a good time! If your journey is heading from another corner of our beautiful globe, then your trip to kw’25 will be a little adventurous! The main transport hub will be the second largest city of Slovakia and the metropolis of the East – Košice! From Košice you will already be transported either by train or bus to Rožňava (transport connections go roughly in hourly intervals). If you are traveling from Kraków, you just need to get up in the morning and use the bus to Poprad and change to the train to Košice. Morning birds in Ostrava can use the morning train with a transfer in Žilina. Also, passengers from Vienna can use the morning bus at 5:30. Visitors from Budapest can sleep a little longer – the train goes to Košice every 2 hours!). If you are planning to start your journey in Prague, then we recommend taking a night train and comfortably drop off in Košice the next morning. If your journey starts in a completely different destination, then we recommend going to go a day earlier and sleep in a city you have on your way (ideally Košice). The easiest way will be those who prefer a passenger car for their transport. In this case, you will have an adventurous journey on Slovak motorways (and some sightseeing rides in the villages as well!).

The opening ceremony will be held in KC Kláštor which is located on the main square in Rožňava just 500 meters from the main bus station, but 3,7 km from the train station (if you travel by train, don´t worry, we can pick you up).

Our event is co-organised and finacially suppoorted by the Faculty of Science of the Pavol Jozef Šafárik University in Košice. Head of the Physical Geography Department in Geography Institute of Geography and General Secretary of the European Speleological Federation , Dr. Alena Gessert, is going to be present at our event.
