Exchange Leuven-Joensuu

We flew to Helsinki and spent the night there before travelling to Joensuu the next day. In the evening, we joined a local party to kick off the exchange. On Saturday, we visited the local geography faculty and explored Joensuu during a city walk. The next day, we went to Koli National Park and enjoyed the beautiful view from Koli Mountain. In the evening, we baked traditional Finnish pastries and experienced a real Finnish sauna: including cooling off in the river!

On Monday, we headed back to Helsinki and explored the city a bit. Since our Helsinki–Charleroi flight was cancelled, we took a night bus to Riga instead. That unexpected detour gave us the chance to spend a day in Latvia, visiting Cēsis, Sigulda, and Riga. Thank you Joensuu!!
