In response\, resilience is gaining importance as a guiding principle in regional planning. This workshop introduces and critically discusses the concept of resilience in relation to established principles such as sustainability. Building on this\, participants will collaboratively analyse regional case studies\, compare different resilience approaches\, and identify best-practice examples. \n\n\n\n\n\nThe Ice Age Blueprint: Decoding glacial landscapes\n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nIgor Dmowski & Jacek Okoński \n\n\n\nThe workshop will explore glacial terrain structures in Northern Poland\, focusing on their identification using GIS mapping tools and a field excursion. Participants will utilize geological and geomorphological maps\, aerial photos and fieldwork observations to identify these landforms and create a poster-style map of the Congress area displaying the identified features. \n\n\n\n\n\nControl + GIS. Disaster-prone areas monitoring\n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nEva Adelberger & Joris Heine \n\n\n\nThis workshop addresses the monitoring of disaster-prone areas in Poland using GIS\, with a focus on natural disasters such as floods\, droughts\, wildfires and heatwaves. Through hands-on activities with ArcGIS Pro participants will gain practical skills in disaster mapping and visualization\, culminating in the creation of informative maps or posters highlighting climate risks in both natural and urban landscapes. \n\n\n\n\n\nBorders that Unite: Coordinated Action in Times of Crisis\n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nAmelia Tunikowska \n\n\n\nThe workshop will introduce the fundamentals of international law\, with a particular focus on EU law related to cross-border cooperation and joint emergency-response mechanisms. It will explore how governments react and cooperate during crises such as floods or hurricanes\, how countries can effectively support one another in emergency situations. Develop practical skills in professional discussion and debate\, rapid decision-making under pressure\, and clear\, effective communication.  \n\n\n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nApplause for the workshop leaders!!We hope you’ll enjoy the workshops!
