SUMMARY:Training New Trainers
DESCRIPTION:EGEA Training Team and EGEA Osnabrück proudly present TNT2022!  \n\n\n\nWhat is TNT? It’s short for Training New Trainers. During this event\, you will learn everything you need to\, in order to become a great soft-skill trainer. There will be sessions about communication\, feedback\, group dynamics\, training design and training methods\, facilitation\, and adult learning. \n\n\n\nThis year’s TNT has three parts: an online preparation (date TBD)\, the weekend in Osnabrück\, and an online conclusion (date TBD). After this\, you will have about one month’s time to prepare your very own training session for the online EGEA Training Day which we will organise in winter. Here\, all EGEAns can participate in your online training. \n\n\n\nFor this whole learning trajectory\, you will have the amazing support of four experienced trainers\, so no reason to be worried. You will be guided throughout the whole process. You will be hosted by the members of EGEA Osnabrück and will spend the day at the University for your workshops and trainings. \n\n\n\nMore information about the trainers and the program is following soon! \n\n\n\nSee you soon! \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nEGEA Osnabrück & EGEA Training Team

Together we will find out what zones have geothermal potential and how to exploit it to our benefit. \n\n\n\n\n\nAC 2022 Workshop Leader Andrei\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nBiodiversity of Danube River\nBiodiversity in general and along rivers is something that’s constantly changing. With human settlements\, drainages and river corrections for cities and agriculture\, rivers transform. In the first session of our workshop\, we want to focus on the historical changes of the flow paths and thus the biodiversity of the Danube. With the tool https://www.oldmapsonline.org/\,a specific area of the Danube river and its transition throughout history can be observed. After channelisation of rivers\, revitalisations are becoming a bigger topic. What are key aspects in revitalisation projects and is it possible to reconstruct the initial quality of the ecosystem? \n\n\n\nThe biodiversity of the Danube as one of the longest rivers in Europe is unique. It originates in South-Western Germany and ends in the Black Sea in Europes second largest river delta. A general introduction into the biodiversity of the Danube is given. Ecosystems of the Danube river are investigated in more detail with two foci: the local environment of Budapest and the Danube delta. \n\n\n\nIn a group project\, a segment of the Danube river biodiversity is investigated in more detail. What is the current and what is the past biodiversity of the chosen area? What “corrections” were made that lead to a loss in biodiversity? What measures could be done to increase biodiversity again? How feasible are revitalisation projects? The answers to these questions and also further elaborations are summarised in posters that are presented during the workshop presentations. \n\n\n\n\n\nAC 2022 Workshop Co-leader Celine\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAC 2022 Workshop Co-leader Juliette\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nEffects of Urbanizatıion on Groundwater\nHave you ever wondered where your daily tap water is coming from? Where it has been through and how it is stored in the ground beneath your feet? Then this workshop is for you. In a couple of sessions\, you will get to know the basics of groundwater recharge\, geological architecture of aquifer systems and the various chemical influences on water quality with regards to the greater Budapest area. We will try to examine the influence of urbanisation on groundwater supply and quality and by the end of this workshop\, you will be able to hopefully appreciate this everyday commodity a bit more. \n\n\n\n(1) Session: explanation of water cycle\, groundwater formation and reservoir architecture (maybe identify influx sites for surface water within the Budapest area by utilizing geological maps …) \n\n\n\n(2) Session: for the scientific excursion walk around the previously identified sites and measure concentration of anthropogenic induced chemical compounds (lead\, nitrate\, potassium\, …) in surface wells \n\n\n\n(3) Session: evaluate measured concentrations\, discuss the source of each measured compound and effects/ solutions for improving groundwater quality\, map the results and create a poster for the workshop presentation \n\n\n\n\n\nAC 2022 Workshop Leader Jan\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nProtection of Our Rivers\nRivers\, one of the most important water resources of our world. Over recent years\, rivers have been polluted with various substances introduced by humans. Water is an essential resource and its purity is being dramatically endangered by our pollution and urgently needs protecting. There are various types of pollutants\, some of which are general detritus\, microplastics\, oils\, and the residues from chemical manufacturing and these are all contaminating our water resources not only endangering our health but especially the health of our planet. Without water\, terrestrial and aquatic life cannot survive. Rivers act as the main transport of freshwater\, and therefore need protection at all costs. However\, this protection does not only mean restoring the natural ecosystems to improve their biodiversity\, but also taking a look at the natural water balance of the river to ensure its health and track contamination due to pollution. Plastic\, as a main contributor to freshwater pollution\, can be found in rivers as eroded small particles which we call microplastics. These can be found in almost every ecosystem\, but in rivers especially\, which is why we will be focusing on protecting our rivers in regards to the concentrations of microplastic in them. \n\n\n\nIn our Workshop our main focus will be on general river pollution with a special take on microplastic in watercourses. As the accommodation is located on an island\, surrounded by branches of the Danube river we will focus on the pollution of the Danube river and compare it with other rivers. In one session we want to have a small excursion to the Szentendrei-Dunaag to measure the flow velocity on the basis of which we can calculate the approximate amount of microplastic that could be deposited in the river (that’s just possible if we can get the equipment for this\, but we are on it). Afterwards\, we want to compare the data with other data from the Danube river and see if there is a difference or if it is similar in the side branch to the Danube. Additionally\, if we can’t get the measuring equipment or don’t have enough time\, we want to build a map in QGIS about the amount of pollution in the Danube\, as it is the most polluted river in Hungary\, mostly polluted by microplastic. According to the Wessling – Quality of life research group\, the Danube river counts 50 ± 7.07 particles per cubic metre. Will we find the same amount in the Szentendrei-Dunaag river? \n\n\n\nWe are eager to explore the area to get results! \n\n\n\n\n\nAC 2022 Workshop Co-leaders Josefa and Runa\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nRecreational Areas in Budapest\nThe workshop will focus on presenting places in Budapest where people can relax and recharge their batteries/power. We will try to point out the diversity and variety of different relaxation options in every aspect (City tour\, Pub tour\, Wellness\, Relaxation\, Sport and more…). Based on the great possibility of choosing relaxation\, a person will come to his senses both mentally and physically. \n\n\n\n\n\nAC 2022 Workshop Leader Michal\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nExcUrsıons\n\n\n\n\nCycling around Szetendre\n\n\n\n\n\nDragonboat on Danube\n\n\n\n\n\nHiking in Rám-szakadék\n\n\n\n\n\nHiking to the Prédikálószék\n\n\n\n\n\nSightseeing in Esztergom\n\n\n\n\n\nSightseeing in Visegrád\n\n\n\n\n\n\nBasıc Information\n\n\n\nWhen ? \n\n\n\n\n\n\n  \n\n\n\n\nWhere ? \n\n\n\nAnnual Congress 2022 is going to take place in Szentendre\,Budapest. Our accomadation is located on the island of Papsziget on Danube river. It is about 30 km from Budapest and one of the beautiful inner city in Hungary. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nTransportation \n\n\n\nBudapest is one of the most accesible capitals in Europe! There are lots of options you can use to reach the city. And there is an app for transportation you can download. \n\n\n\nFor Android users: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=hu.webvalto.bkkfutar&hl=en&gl=US \n\n\n\nFor İos users: https://apps.apple.com/hu/app/budapestgo/id916193835 \n\n\n\nProgramme \n\n\n\n–\n\n\n\nThe Orgateam\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nDorina Juhász\n\n\n\nMain Organizer \n\n\n\nEGEA Budapest \n\n\n\n\n\nInstagram\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n \n\n\n\n\n\nDaniel Juhász\n\n\n\nMain Organizer \n\n\n\nEGEA Debrecen \n\n\n\n\n\nInstagram\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAlex Takács\n\n\n\nParticipation Coordinator \n\n\n\nEGEA Budapest \n\n\n\n\n\nInstagram\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAntonia Ungureanu\n\n\n\nFinancial Coordinator \n\n\n\nEGEA Cluj-Napoca \n\n\n\n\n\nInstagram\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nBendeguz Biro\n\n\n\nProgramme Coordinator \n\n\n\nEGEA Budapest \n\n\n\n\n\nInstagram\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nEmma Vadler\n\n\n\nScience Coordinator \n\n\n\nEGEA Budapest \n\n\n\nInstagram\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nMadalina Stoica\n\n\n\nFundraising Coordinator \n\n\n\nEGEA Timisoara \n\n\n\n\n\nInstagram\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nRobert Neagoe\n\n\n\nParticipant Coordinator \n\n\n\nEGEA Timisoara \n\n\n\n\n\nInstagram\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nUğur Eren Daştan\n\n\n\nGreen Coordinator \n\n\n\nEGEA Izmir \n\n\n\nTwitter\n\nInstagram\n\nFacebook\n\nSpotify\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nZsolt Mata\n\n\n\nDesign and Media Coordinator \n\n\n\nEGEA Debrecen \n\n\n\n\n\nInstagram\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nSponsors\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nNNG is a leading global supplier of embedded and connected software for the automotive industry. SUMMARY:EGEA-Interrail
DESCRIPTION:Hey EGEAns\, \n\n\n\nsome of you might have heard of the “Interrail-Ticket”. It’s a ticket you can use as many highspeed-trains in Europe as you like for a limited amount of time\, like a flatrate. \n\n\n\nI’ve already heard of many EGEANs who booked an “Interrail”-ticket this year. So I had the idea that we could have an Interrail-event to meet up during our travels! I will plan a route so that as many of us can travel together to our favourite destinations. Please note that you’ll need to buy your own Interrail-ticket as well as cover your own expenses during the trip. The planning is taken care of\, though! \n\n\n\nThere is no set date for the trip yet\, it will depend on when You have time! If you’re interested in joining us for (a part of) the Interrail-trip\, you’ll just need to fill in the form below with all the information so I can start planning the route. \n\n\n\nSee you somewhere in Europe! \n\n\n\nLukas (EGEA Hannover) \n\n\n\nhttps://forms.gle/JMDLJiZdAkj6VjNx6

SUMMARY:Let's Talk about Slow Mobility! - Pandemic and Climate Crisis learnings
DESCRIPTION:2022 EGEA is focussing on pedestrians\, cyclists and other forms of slow mobility that enhance livability\, security and sustainable experiences in our local neighbourhoods. All together leading to more social interaction\, healthier lifestyles and human friendly streets. Planning of infrastructure\, transportation systems and living spaces in cities are very geographic topics but can also give knowledge and tools to urban eco-activists. Not only the climate crisis but also the recent pandemic posed us new challenges; we started working from home and we switched from car to bicycle. Let’s use the cross-learnings to develop more livable neighbourhoods. We are proud to present you a workshop for young people\, organised by young geographers on city planning potentials. Some of our EGEA members specialised in this field and Daan Pivacet\, a design expert from Utrecht\, will give us input and lead an exercise on mobility planning design.  This exercise will give you an inside and chance to learn about city design. \n\n\n\nAfterwards we warmly invite you to join the Green Bar. \n\n\n\n#TheGreenTrack #takeitslow #egeatheme #slowmobility #onthemove

Śniardwy is the biggest lake in Poland. You will sail on small boats called Sigma 600 club and it will take about 3 or 4 hours. \n\n\n\n\nSightseeing and boat trip\nsightseeing with a guide around Pisz – a charming city that will last about 1\,5 h. In the end\, we will have the opportunity to sit at the city market and drink some good coffee.  \n\n\n\nExcursion has been cancelled\, due to insuficient sign-ups \n\n\n\n\n\nWorkshops\n\n\n\n\nWater Tourism\n\n\n\n\nAre You keen on spending holidays actively? Have You ever been sailing? In our workshop\, we will not only cover the scientific aspect of water tourism across Europe\, but we will go sailing by ourselves and use professional measuring devices to get data about water pollution! \n\n\n\nThe subject of the workshop concerns the general character of water tourism and different approaches to spending leisure time on the water. We will discuss the differences and types of this kind of tourism in various countries. Then we’ll smoothly proceed to the aspect of environmental harassment caused by tourists. By the end of the workshops\, we will aim to create a report discussing the results of our measurement taken on the excursion and assessing the further consequences of the development of water tourism in the Masurian region. \n\n\n\nExcursion\n\n\n\nWe will divide into three groups and get onto the yachts. While sailing across the lake Mikołajskie\, one of the most popular Masurian lakes\, we will measure the cleanliness of the lake using a professional device provided by The Jagiellonian University. Having the continuous measurements taken over some period\, we will be able to put the results onto the map\, which will result in the breathtaking and astonishing spatial interpretation of the quality of the water in the lake. \n\n\n\nWorkshop leaders\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nLeona Matotek\n\n\n\nUniversity of Zagreb\, EGEA Zagreb \n\n\n\nFacebook\n\nInstagram\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nLeon Puljević\n\n\n\nUniversity of Zagreb\, EGEA Zagreb \n\n\n\nFacebook\n\nInstagram\n\n\n\n\n\n\nHistorical places and their meaning in region\nOlecko; Poland – May 20\, 2018: Monument in honor of soldiers who died during World War I\, unveiled on September 11\, 1927\n\n\n\nNo beaches? We don’t have them here either. But we have multiple architectural buildings filled with mixed cultural influence which created an extraordinary climate for the region. We will dive into local history and reasons why masurians are neither pole nor german. \n\n\n\nThe subject of the workshop concerns the heritage of Masuria. We will discuss historical events\, masurian identity and influence of religion in this region. As a part of our workshop we are going to trace back the change of areas of influence of different countries by using pre prepared maps. \n\n\n\nWorkshop leaders\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nKorana Komar\n\n\n\nFaculty of Science in Zagreb\, Department of Geography\, EGEA Zagreb \n\n\n\nFacebook\n\nInstagram\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nStella Štefanac\n\n\n\nUniversity of Science Zagreb\, Department of Geography\, EGEA Zagreb \n\n\n\nFacebook\n\nInstagram\n\n\n\n\n\n\nCittaslow – slow life not only in the countryside\nCatholic baroque church in Swieta Lipka (Heilige Linde)\, Masuria\, Poland\n\n\n\nNo Are you tired of rushed and overcrowded touristic places? It takes between 2 to 4 hours to get there from Warsaw\, Gdańsk\, and Poznań) or 6 – 7 hours from Kraków and Wrocław. \n\n\n\nFrom every city\, you can travel the day before or on the day of the congress (9th of May). Most of the trains arrive in Olsztyn between 9 am and 15 pm. \n\n\n\n\nHow to get to Olsztyn\, by bus?\nFlixbus arrives at Olsztyn only around 9 pm\, so if you want to travel with Flixbus you will have to arrive there the day before (8th of May). It is line 1221 and you can travel with it from Kraków or Warsaw (also straight from WAW and WMI airport). \n\n\n\nYou can also travel by Polonus from Warsaw to Olsztyn. There are also airports in Poznan\, Wroclaw\, Krakow\, and Gdansk. \n\n\n\n\nHow to get to Olsztyn\, by car?\nYou can travel by bla bla car\, but remember that drivers often post their offers only 2 – 3 days before the ride. \n\n\n\nHere is a sheet that we created to ease ride-sharing between EGEAns! You can switch between sheets depending on whether you are offering or needing a car ride. \n\n\n\nCar sharing \n\n\n\nMost of the highways in Poland are for free\, so you don’t have to worry about paying for the ride.
