The music range includes indie\, pop\, punk\, rock\, techno and much more. If you want to check it out we put the link to the festival below with the program details. \n\n\n\nSpeaking of program details we as Egea Bochum are big fans of Bochum Total and want to share this amazing experience. SUMMARY:Hessian Weekend Vol. 2
DESCRIPTION:Introduction \n\n\n\nGude\, as we say in Hessia\, \n\n\n\nBut what exactly is this Hessia? Good thing you asked! \n\n\n\nFor all cultural lowbrows in the world: Hessia is one of the 16 German federal states and is located in the centre of Germany. We are also the home of Apple Wine\, Bembels and the starting point of the racoon invasion of Europe. In fact\, raccoons originally came from North America but in 1934 the first raccons were released at the Edersee for hunting purposes. Now racoon are the menace of european housing. \n\n\n\nIf you want to find out more about Hessia\, Apple Wine and raccoons\, prepare yourself for an exciting weekend with EGEA Marburg and our raccoon Pedro at the Edersee. The event will take place on July 25-28 at the Edersee Sports and Study Centre of the Philipps-Universität Marburg. Since we are only 20 meters away from a lake you should definitely pack your swimming trunks and sunglasses! \n\n\n\nOrganisers\n\n\n\n\n\nLocation\n\n\n\n\n\nHow to get to the Location \n\n\n\nBasically you have two options to arrive. Either you come by car to the above address of the Sport- und Studienheim Edersee of the Philipps-Universität Marburg. There will be enough parking spaces at the accommodation\, but we recommend you to do some carpooling (there will be an excel for this). The second possibility is to travel by train to the train station “Vöhl Herzhausen“. Be careful! It could be that you have to press a stop button on the train otherwise it might happen it won’t stop. From the train station you can have a nice hike to the accommodation (50min next to the lake) or order a “Bus-Taxi (AST)” \n\n\n\nShuttle transports are only offered in emergencies on the day of arrival. Waiting 30min for the bus is not an emergency ;). \n\n\n\nOf course you can also arrive by bike at the accommodation if you want to be very Eco friendly. \n\n\n\nIf you have further questions you can ask us in the Whatsapp group or write a mail to marburg@egea.eu \n\n\n\nParticipaNt Fee\n\n\n\n\n\nRegistration \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n  \n\n\n\n\nPictures of the Accommodation \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nProgram \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nExcursions \n\n\n\n\n\nGuided Ranger Tour through the “Kellerwald-Edersee” National Park (10-12km\, 5-6h) \n\n\n\nThe tour starts at the car park “Strieder-Eiche” and walk from the Asel Bay to the “Katzenberg” (Cat Mountain). Where you will have a magnificent view of the Edersee. From there the path will get more narrow and harder to climb while we will continue your journey to the “Lindenberg”. The following path will be very overgrown\, and the “Edersee” only appears through the treetops just in a few places. Your last attraction point will be the “Hünselburg” with the remains of medieval ramparts.                 \n\n\n\nDuring the hike you will find a rare flora and a lot of different types of stones. At one point you will also see a landslide\, which will be avoided via a secured path. \n\n\n\nThere will be 1-2 other big excursions. More informations coming soon! \n\n\n\nLeisure Activities\n\n\n\nYoga \n\n\n\nDo you want to relax from the pressure of everyday life? Then our yoga leisure activity is the best way to help you with our coaches Michelle & Bastian. Both are true experts and are giving yoga session on a regular basis. \n\n\n\nVolleyball / Soccer \n\n\n\nIf you want to play a match of beach volleyball or football\, register. Here you can not only do some sports but also prove your skills or improve them with the help of our leisure coaches. \n\n\n\nArts & Meditation \n\n\n\nAre you a creative type and want to express yourself artistically? If so\, why not visit Marielle & Lisa’s leisure activity where you will not only learn a few new drawing skills but also something about yourself \n\n\n\nFree Time Activities\n\n\n\nStand UP Paddle \n\n\n\nHave you always wanted to paddle standing up? At the Hessian Weekend you have the opportunity to use our SUPs for free during the whole day. \n\n\n\nFloristic Scavenger Hunt \n\n\n\nOur raccoon Pedro is a huge fan of the traditional hessian green sauce\, but he doesn’t have all the ingredients for it. Can you help him and find all 7 ingredients at lake edersee? \n\n\n\nPacking list \n\n\n\nLunch boxWater bottleName tag keychainsuitable footwearswimweartowelscomforter covers/ sleeping bagsslippersWeatherproof clothingSunscreen

DESCRIPTION:Baltic Weekend is upon us once more! Come enjoy the mythical country of Latvia with the utmost Latvian experts – Estonians! \n\n\n\nLatvia isn’t completely uncharted territory for EGEA. We will make sure to introduce you to the local scenery\, the exact destination for the excursion is yet to be specified. All participants will have an exclusive opportunity to take part in the “I must learn the inner workings of a Latvian or I will perish” workshop. Join us in celebrating Livonian evening in commemoration of the 106th anniversary of the dissolution of the Governorate of Livonia. \n\n\n\nWhen\, where and how much? \n\n\n\n\n\nOur accommodation will be located in the vicinity of Smiltene\, 127 km from Riga or 131 km from Tartu. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nThe number of participants is limited to 20\, participants will be filled on a first come first serve basis. Conveniently reachable via public transport\, our campsite offers the perfect escape from the hustle and stress of city life \n\n\n\nExperience the first ever: \n\n\n\nLower Saxony Campathon \n\n\n\nfrom August 8th to 11th 2024 \n\n\n\nwhere adventure awaits amidst the picturesque landscapes of Lower Saxony. \n\n\n\nWith around 35 participants expected to join\, this event promises an unforgettable outdoor experience. \n\n\n\nPARTICIPANT FEE: 55€ (excluded drinks) \n\n\n\nSpecial offers: \n\n\n\n\nwe are offering participating for Ukrainians for just 27\,50€\n\n\n\n\n\nparticipants that have to travel a long distance\, can arrive 1-2 todays earlier\, and enjoy Hannover in its summerprime. Please inform us beforehand (using the participants form)\n\n\n\n\n\nHow to get there\nThe campsite is easy to reach even if it is rather remote by Central European standards. It is not directly next to a railway station or a motorway. However\, it is reasonably accessible via main roads and bus connections.  \n\n\n\nThe nearest railway station is Nienburg(Weser). Regional and S-Bahn trains stop there every hour. There are also some long-distance trains. If you are travelling by regional train\, a Germany ticket is probably worthwhile. The DB app is the best way to plan your train journey. From there\, you can take the number 60 bus to the Landesbergen\, Kraftwerk bus stop. The bus journey takes about 30 minutes.  From there it is about 25 minutes on foot to the accommodation. Your luggage will be transported from the bus stop to our accommodation.  \n\n\n\n\nhttps://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=de.hafas.android.db\n\n\n\n\nTravelling by bike is easily possible. The campsite is close to the Weser cycle path\, which is one of the most popular cycle routes in Germany. Further information is available here: https://www.weserradweg-info.de/ (Unfortunately only in German) \n\n\n\nThe nearest long-distance bus stop is Hanover. It is very well connected both nationally and internationally. From there\, you have to continue your journey by train and bus. \n\n\n\nYou can find more information about the connection and the Hanover bus station at: https://www.hannover-zob.de/ \n\n\n\nThe accommodation is easy to reach by car. The address is “In den Büschen; 31628 Landesbergen” The journey by car is mainly via main roads and country roads. However\, the last 200 meters are unpaved roads. However\, this can be mastered without any problems by standard vehicles travelling slowly. If you are travelling by car\, we recommend carpooling to save on fuel and travel costs. \n\n\n\nThe nearest airports are Hanover (HAJ) and Bremen (BRE). They have many national and international connections. They are about 2-3 hours away from the accommodation by train and bus. Hamburg (HAM)\, which is around 4 hours away\, has an even larger selection of flights.  \n\n\n\n\n\n\nAccommodation & Surroundings \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nProgram\n \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nExcursions & Trainings\nExcursions: \n\n\n\nMonastery Loccum \n\n\n\nThis excursion takes us to Loccum Abbey. It was founded in the early Middle Ages and even though it is no longer inhabited by monks\, a large part of its historical building fabric has been preserved. We will be given a guided tour of the monastery\, where we will learn all the important information about it and its surroundings. Afterwards\, we will take a walk through the neighbouring natural monastery forest. In this recreational area\, which is very popular with locals\, we will walk past the monastery’s historic and beautiful fish ponds and a small castle ruin\, among other things. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nRauzwi Archaeology Middle Weser \n\n\n\nThis excursion will include two very interesting aspects of remembrance research. First\, we are going to have a guided tour of an archaeological site\, specifically a burial ground from the 4th to the 9th century B.C.\, along with later discovered remains of a settlement from the 8th or 9th century A.D. The second part of this excursion will be a guided and interactive tour through the open-air museum\, which includes a pit house and a post store. Aspects of remembrance culture\, perhaps from earlier times than you have encountered in your studies\, will be the focus of this wonderful excursion. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nPeatlands of lower saxony – MoorIZ (Peat information center) \n\n\n\nJoin us for an unforgettable adventure through the peatlands of lower saxony and experience the beauty and complexity of these vital ecosystems firsthand. We will visit the peat information center which provides an in-depth look at the formation of peat\, biodiversity\, its use by humans and the environmental significance of peatlands. We will also gain insights into the conversation efforts and the challenges facing peatland preservation. Afterwards the will have an expert- guided tour through the Otternhagener Moor and experience this unique landscape with its wildlife by ourselves. This excursion is perfect for physical geographers\, soil enjoyers and nature enthusiasts. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nSkill sessions: \n\n\n\nSelf love \n\n\n\nHi my name is Sina and with this skill session you could be a part of a journey that will effect your future. We are going to look past the surface\, without focusing on what’s wrong and rather pay attention to your strengths and what right. \n\n\n\nArt with Lotta \n\n\n\nIn this skill session I’ll teach you playfully the basics of art\, the basic structures every hobby painter and every professional artist is using on a daily basis. Tag along! \n\n\n\nKarate/ mobility session \n\n\n\nDepending on the group we will either focus more on Defense Training and how to fall without breaking bones or some exercises that help reduce back pain and increase mobility. In both cases you should wear sport clothes.

SUMMARY:Karstic Weekend '24
DESCRIPTION:Welcome to Karstic Weekend ’24\, an EGEA Zadar event in Croatia’s captivating Velebit karst region where mountains meet the sea! Join us to explore this unique land—caves\, dolines and much more. Dive into nature’s mysteries\, from forests to the magic of coastal karst\, all amidst the embrace of Croatia’s stunning geography! \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n  \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nLocation\n\n\n\n\nHostel Čelina\n\nHostel Čelina“An oasis on the coastal side of Velebit“\n\n\n\n\nNestled along the coastal side of Velebit\, you’ll find the charming Hostel Čelina\, a hub of warmth and hospitality year-round\, managed by Božena Radošević and her mother Marija\, with the helping hands of their two teenage daughters during school breaks. Every detail of this accommodation is carefully crafted\, from the thoughtfully designed interiors to the eco-friendly materials used throughout\, creating a serene oasis where guests can feel at home. The ever-changing weather\, with its sudden shifts and dramatic Velebit storms\, adds a touch of excitement to the experience\, reminding us of nature’s power and endless variety.Perched nearly 700 meters above sea level\, the air here is refreshingly pure\, offering a cool retreat from the summer heat\, while the sparkling sea lies just a brief 10-minute journey away. It’s a blend of climates and temperatures\, where guests can slumber peacefully amidst the gentle slopes of Velebit. \n\n\n\n\n\n\nBaške Oštarije\nBaške Oštarije is one of the rare settlements in the peak area of Velebit. It is located by the road Gospić-Karlobag\, at the border of the Central and Southern Velebit.Once upon a time there was a Venetian merchant caravan on this important Velebit passage and the place became known as the Oštarije. The name Oštarije comes from the Romance languages (tal. osteria – tavern). They are situated at 924 meters above sea level and are surrounded by beautiful Dabri and Dabar peaks. Dabar not only a name for beaver in Croatia (there are none here)\, but also for the special Velebit valleys with the flat bottom. The village was established following the construction of Karolina Road. The Military Frontier Management encouraged settlement near the road in Oštarijsko polje field to support travelers and those involved in transportation. Houses were provided by the Military Frontier Management\, allowing settlers to cultivate cleared land for farming and livestock. Increased trade between the continent and coastal areas eventually attracted more residents to the village. \n\n\n\n\n\n\nNP Paklenica\nThe Paklenica karst river canyon is a national park in Croatia. Due to its unique natural features\, magnificent forests\, and extraordinary geomorphologic structures\, the area of Velika and Mala Paklenica was proclaimed a national park in 1949. The main reason for proclaiming this area a national park was the protection of the largest and best-preserved forest complex in the territory of Dalmatia\, which was threatened by overexploitation. The Paklenica National Park covers an area of 95 km2 and includes the highest peaks of the Velebit Mountain – Vaganski vrh (1752 m a.s.l.) and Sveto brdo (1753 m a.s.l.).The name Paklenica probably derives from Black Pine sap called “paklina”\, which the locals used in traditional medicine\, for wound treatment\, for light\, and for coating wooden boats (but it also sounds like “hellish” – “pakleno” lol). It covers the area of torrent flows of Velika Paklenica and Mala Paklenica\, and their distinctive canyons carved vertically into the southern slopes of the Velebit Mountain as well as their surrounding area. The relatively small area has an abundance of geomorphological phenomena and forms\, diverse flora and fauna\, attractive landscapes and intact nature. Near the entrance to the Velika Paklenica is an artificial tunnel complex built for Josip Broz Tito during the tension between Yugoslavia and the USSR in the late 1940s and early 1950s (that’s the real important info haha\, but tbh we might have have a presentation in here). \n\n\n\n\n\n\nCaves\nWe will have the opportunity to show you two wonderful caves as well:Modrič Cave\, located in the town of Rovanjska\, offers a journey into an underground world. Stretching 829 meters\, this natural wonder provides an authentic experience without concrete paths and bright lights. You can see stunning formations\, including stalactites\, stalagmites\, and unique speleo themes resembling jellyfish and more. With its spacious chambers and consistent temperature of 16-17°C\, Modrič Cave promises an unforgettable adventure. \n\n\n\n Modrič cave (Croatia) by Geospatial Analysis Laboratory Zadar on Sketchfab \n\n\n\nNestled within Paklenica National Park\, Manita Peć is the other cave on our karst advnture. As the only show cave open to the public\, it has captivated visitors since 1937. It has incredible expansive chambers adorned with exquisite speleothems\, including stalagmites\, stalactites\, columns\, and flowstones. Each formation\, such as the Helmet\, the Organ\, and the Witch\, tells a fascinating story of natural beauty and wonder. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nPROGRAMME\n\n\n\nPrepare to delve into the captivating world of karstology and related sciences! Upon arrival in Gospić\, we’ll explore Nikola Tesla’s early life in the nearby village of Smiljan. Our journey begins with a lecture on karst by our wonderful professor from the University of Zadar’s Geography Department. The following day\, a karst researcher will lead us on an exciting expedition to Modrič cave and Paklenica National Park\, promising a delightful mix of caves\, rivers\, and stunning landscapes! \n\n\n\nExpect an engaging scientific theme throughout Saturday with workshops facilitated by our enthusiastic geographers and karst scientists\, covering topics like GIS and Karst research. Meanwhile\, another exciting excursion near our accommodation awaits\, featuring the breathtaking Premužić Path. And fear not\, our weekend won’t be solely about science! We’ll sprinkle in some classic EGEA fun and Croatian adventures for an unforgettable experience! \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nHOW TO GET TO GOSPIĆ\n\n\n\nTo get to Gospić from Zagreb and Zadar\, here’s a breakdown of transportation options: \n\n\n\n\nBy Bus:\nFrom Zagreb: \n\n\n\n\nBus Operators: FlixBus\, Velebit Tours\, Samoborček\, Arriva Croatia\n\n\n\nFlixBus operates buses to Gospić three times a day\, with tickets costing between €17 – €24. SUMMARY:EGEA Train Orient Express Edition
DESCRIPTION:*Dates might change slightly \n\n\n\nAbout the Event\n\n\n\nThere have been many events in the last few years since the pandemic came to a halt. The  vast majority of them were centered around traveling to a certain place\, spending a few nights in an accommodation and enjoying a program tailored around the location the event was taking place at.  \n\n\n\nHeavily inspired by Events like the Trans-Siberian Railway or TTT we thought about a new kind of Venture unlike the Weekends and Congresses everybody got used to. The idea  to travel across Europe meeting new people has always been a core value of EGEA and the “Orient Express” will be a new approach to boost it even further.  \n\n\n\nFollowing the steps of Agatha Christies famous novel we plan on taking you on a long journey starting from the splendour of Budapest to the vast city of Bucharest\, the illustrious bulgarian capital and all the way to the burstling city of Istanbul. It will be the first EGEA event to cross over to another continent. \n\n\n\nThe passengers of the EGEA train will have to opportunity to learn about the culture\, history and cuisine of four different countries in one single trip. For every city we created a small program to make the most out of your stay there. But that does not mean that passengers cant bring in their own ideas on what to see and do. \n\n\n\nTo make this event unforgettable\, were in need of unforgettable people. To make sure that you will be one of them\, we created an anonymous application process focused on the qualities our passengers should bring on a trip like this. \n\n\n\nThe participant fee covers all trains taken from Budapest to Istabul\, the accomodations in every city plus program expenses (Museums or Monuments). Everything else needs to be paid by the participants themseves\, so make sure plan in some money for food and souvenirs. \n\n\n\nPossible Route \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nPArticipant fee\n\n\n\n299 € \n\n\n\nRegistration\n\n\n\nPlease fill out the following docs and sign up via the RSVP button for a succesfull registration. Incomplete registrations are invalid! \n\n\n\nEdit: The registration endet already on 01.05.2025 if you`re still interestead please message us via mail: unbound@egea.eu \n\n\n\nhttps://forms.gle/Zbmt7QrjJUKhcKwo9 \n\n\n\n\n\n\n

Agriculture has traditionally been a core element of Podhale’s economy and culture\, yet its practices have continuously raised questions of sustainability. Now it’s time to brace it for the heavily changing environment surrounding it. \n\n\n\nMoreover\, all of us are aware of the dynamically altering conditions resulting from worldwide human impact and climate change. With extreme occurences and catastrophes that have been and are now happening in Europe\, we want to provide insight and give room for diving further into these issues in a place filled with nature\, deeply sensitive to unstable circumstances. \n\n\n\nWe also cannot forget the ever-so-important EGEA Regional Restructuring. In its spirit\, we offer space to talk about the future of our Association. What does it look like with the new division just around the corner? What new challenges will we be faced with? \n\n\n\n\n\n\n \n \n \n \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nWorkshops\n\n\n\n\n1. The symbiosis between the geographical area and the species of plants and animals with survival basics\n\n\n\nled by: Bristena Misca and Nicolas Radu from Timișoara\n\n\n\n\nIf you ever wondered while hiking or cycling how those beautiful flowers survived in those conditions or how it happened that we have our own endemic species in the Tatra Mountains – then you need to check out this workshop! Here during 4 sessions you will: \n\n\n\n\nlearn the similarities and differences of distinct parts of the Tatras and the Polish Carpathians in terms of plants and animals appearing there\n\n\n\nfind out how to deal with dangerous and unpredictable situations that can occur on the path\n\n\n\nget to know basic survival skills\, needed until help arrives\n\n\n\n\nAfter this workshop you’ll receive the essentials about survival on mountain trails. If you’re very keen on mountain activities\, you can’t miss out on this opportunity to expand your life knowledge around mountains! \n\n\n\n\n\n\nNicolas Radu\n\n\n\nBristena Misca\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nIssues: The harmony of flora and fauna in different parts of Polish Carpathian Mountains and how to keep it alive \n\n\n\n\n2. ‘Til the landslide brought me down\n\n\n\n\nled by: Tonya Banasik and Natalia Hinc from Kraków\n\n\n\n\nEvery mountainous region with steep slopes has the same problem — land mass movement. In Podhale\, one of its drivers is the Carpathian flysch. But what exactly is it? \n\n\n\nWhat are the main hazards hiding behind the landslides and other types of mass movements? Where are the most endangered sites located? How can we protect ourselves from the possible danger? If any of these questions light a spark within you\, we are looking forward to seeing you join this workshop. \n\n\n\nIssues: Land mass movement in the Podhale region \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nTonya Banasik \n\n\n\nNatalia Hinc\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n3. The future of political involvement of young adults – case study of Kościelisko municipality and Podhale region\n\n\n\nled by: Stanisław Konieczny from Warsaw and Ugur Eren Daştan from Izmir\n\n\n\n\n\nEvery community that wants to grow and provide its members with good quality services needs good leadership and involved individuals. It is more difficult to find promising young local leaders when a lot of young people migrate to bigger cities or to better developed regions. Additionally\, nowadays young adults have many options for their professional career. \n\n\n\nWhy should they get involved in local issues and politics? What are the factors that convince young adults to choose this path? And what can local authorities and communities do to convince the younger generation to be more active? During the proposed workshop we want to find answers to these questions. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nUgur Eren Daştan\n\n\n\nStanisław Konieczny\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nIssues: Defining the weight of young adults in creating civil society nowadays \n\n\n\n\n5. Branching out: Aerial insights into sustainable forestry\n\n\n\nled by: Wiebke Breternitz and Lennart Greiner from Jena\n\n\n\n\nForestry is increasingly challenged by the need to balance ecological sustainability with economic and social demands. Let’s explore together how remote sensing technologies like LiDAR and multispectral imaging can reveal the hidden dynamics of forests – from how trees communicate to detecting ecological changes. You’ll get hands-on experience with these tools\, learning to bridge the gap between diverse stakeholder interests through informed forest management strategies. \n\n\n\nWhether you’re new to remote sensing or looking to deepen your knowledge\, you’ll get to know practical applications in forestry that enhance your skills and understanding in a field crucial for making informed decisions that benefit both our forests and communities. \n\n\n\n\n\nWiebke Breternitz and Lennart Greiner\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nIssues: The importance of forests around us & reasonable management of them. How remote sensing can help understand it more. \n\n\n\n\n6. Do you enjoy working with aerial photographs\, archival maps and LiDAR? If so\, fly with us into exploring the changes in the development of the Polish Western Carpathians. \n\n\n\nYou will discover the characteristics of settlements in the Polish mountains (also some of the architecture) and learn about the factors that have influenced and continue to shape this type of development. \n\n\n\nIssues: Changes in the settlement patterns in the Polish Western Carpathians over the years and now \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nTheresa Steinert\n\n\n\nLukas Jensen\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n7. How to adapt the infrastructure and lifestyle to the harsh environment of the Tatra Mountains\n\n\n\n\nled by: Matúš Béber and Vít Šrámek from Prague\n\n\n\n\nDo you enjoy exploring challenging environmental conditions? Do the possibilities of arranging the infrastructure by local communities light a spark within you? If you answered “YES” to either of the above\, this workshop is for you! Leadership and Group Dynamics\n\n\n\n\nled by: Laurent Christen from Zürich\n\n\n\n\nIIn this training you will use brain-friendly\, informal learning techniques to tackle the questions: what is an effective leader\, and how do they guide their group towards success? How do group dynamics play out in groups of different sizes and purposes\, and how can you influence these dynamics positively? You can expect a very interactive training with group work\, discussions\, and fun energizers in a relaxed environment. \n\n\n\nAt the end of the training you will have learned a lot about facilitation: the skill of making things easier for your peers. \n\n\n\n\n\n\nLaurent Christen\n\n\n\n\n\n\nC. First Aid Training\n\n\n\n\nled by: Arne Koscharre from Marburg\n\n\n\n\nNothing is more important than our health and safety\, so this training will be suitable for any person who would like to know the ins and outs of first aid and how to behave in a life-threatening or hazardous situation. From the training itself you will learn the basics of first aid\, which can save lives. \n\n\n\nAnyone can try their hand and learn how to do it properly with the help of a certified paramedic assistant from Germany (Sanitätshelfer)\, who will be conducting this training for EGEAns for the second time. \n\n\n\n\n\n\nArne Koscharre\n\n\n\n\n\n\nD. (Don’t) Be Dramatic – Improv Class!\n\n\n\nled by: Bartosz Pietrak from Warsaw\n\n\n\n\n\nImprov class is all about letting go of almost all the limits. This training will consist of various improv games\, which anybody can try themselves. \n\n\n\nIt’s a very fun time\, bonding social ties\, integrating\, but most importantly a valuable activity. As for the leader of this training (semi-professional actor for many years)\, he has taken part (rather successfully) in many improv games and knows plenty of them. \n\n\n\nYou will (probably) leave this class more encouraged\, self-confident and creative. \n\n\n\n\n\n\nBartosz Pietrak \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nSpecial guest\n\n\n\n\n\nAssociate Professor Grzegorz Micek\, PhDSource: Jagiellonian University in Kraków\n\n\n\n\n\nA very special introduction to the theme of Change for the Future and the region of Podhale as a whole will be delivered by our scientific guest\, Associate Professor Grzegorz Micek\, PhD. \n\n\n\nProfessor Micek works at the Department of Regional Development of the Jagiellonian University in Kraków\, where he is a widely popular lecturer among the students\, which includes the members of EGEA Kraków. His research interests include but are not limited to: local and regional development\, business location factors and the economics of peripheral cities and regions. \n\n\n\nDuring the Scientific Opening of the Annual Congress\, Professor Micek will deliver a thematic lecture titled What shapes the trajectories of mountainous areas? The case of the Polish Carpathians. Here is what he says about it: \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nDuring my forthcoming address\, I will be eager to identify the determinants of specific growth trajectories of mountainous areas using path dependence and formation constructs. In particular\, I would be happy to reveal the mysteries of the historical development of the Polish Carpathians and to provide more detailed studies of selected towns and rural areas. \nAssociate Professor Grzegorz Micek\, PhD.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nProposed excursions\n\n\n\n⚠️🌍 Proposed excursions may differ in the final programme of the congress 🌏⚠️ \n\n\n\n\n#1 Into the Water: Czorsztyn Reservoir\n\n\n\n\nThe most distant of our trips will bring together people of different interests\, with the running theme being water. Here a group EGEAns will head north in the direction of Nowy Targ\, Podhale’s historical capital\, to find themselves nestled right between two national parks – Gorczański and Pieniński. Our destination will be Czorsztyn Reservoir\, one of the largest reservoirs in southern Poland. \n\n\n\nBefore you get there though\, you will get to see sights such as the scenic Bór na Czerwonem (a peatland that is both a nature reserve and a Natura 2000 protected area) and the volcanic hill of Wdżar (functioning partly as a ski resort). Having arrived at the reservoir\, you will first be delighted to go on a private tourist cruise\, allowing you to relax and admire beautiful views of the Orawsko-Nowotarska Basin\, including the castles of Niedzica and Czorsztyn. Once ashore\, you will take a walk across the Niedzica dam\, learning more about the many functions of the beautiful reservoir. The trip will conclude with a swimming session at a nearby beach – for those willing. \n\n\n\nRecommended for: participants of the #2 workshop\, participants of the #6 workshop\, water enthusiasts\, EGEAns with less experience in mountain hiking\, landscape tourists\, those wanting to go farther away from the Tatras \n\n\n\n\n\n\n#2 Winter Capital of Poland: Zakopane\n\n\n\n\nIf you ever considered visiting Poland in winter\, you must have heard of Zakopane. The city\, just east of our Kościelisko\, is nicknamed Poland’s winter capital for a reason. During this excursion (the only urban one\, may we add) two groups of EGEAns will see the many sides of Zakopane\, a city vibrant regardless of the season. \n\n\n\nThe first of the groups will follow a path in the footsteps of local culture\, starting with branches of the Tatra Museum: Chałupa Gąsieniców-Sobczaków and Willa “Koliba”\, where they will get acquainted with customs and traditions of the Polish Highlanders. They will then visit the moody Pęksowy Brzyzek cemetery\, Zakopane’s oldest and most recognizable cemetery\, where tombstones are pieces of art themselves. Their path will end at the headquarters of the Tatra Museum\, where they will get the chance to see the newly opened exhibition of local art titled “Meetings” (pol. “Spotkania”). \n\n\n\nThe second of the groups will study Podhale’s nature and sports legacy\, visiting first the modern Nature Education Centre of the Tatra National Park. They will there be entertained by an immersive 3D model of the Tatras and dioramas of local fauna and flora. Following the education centre\, they will then walk to the Central Sports Centre\, Poland’s epicentre of winter sports. There\, they will get the chance to take a chairlift up the top of the “Wielka Krokiew” ski jump\, Poland’s biggest\, and admire the views seen only by the top ski jumpers of Poland. \n\n\n\nBoth groups will then get to see the core area of the city\, which now serves multiple functions. They will experience both the traditional architecture of Podhale and the sharply contrasting new tourist facilities. Free time is expected on Krupówki\, Zakopane’s very heart and undeniably one of Poland’s most recognisable streets\, before taking the iconic funicular up the peak of Gubałówka (1126) for panoramic views of the city. \n\n\n\nRecommended for: participants of the #4 workshop\, participants of the #8 workshop\, urban freaks\, EGEAns with less experience in mountain hiking\, sports enthusiasts\, those in search of local souvenirs \n\n\n\n\n\n\n#3 Agrifuture: Kościeliska Valley (easy hike)\n\n\n\n\nIn comparison to the following hikes\, this one is much less demanding\, as it starts directly from our accommodation. Do not underestimate it though\, as we have never heard of anyone who would be disappointed after visiting the famous Kościeliska Valley. \n\n\n\nBefore entering the valley\, you will get to see the Tatra National Park’s Tatra Earth Archive\, a state-of-the art underground visitors centre focusing on geology and biogeography of the region. The hike itself will take place in the valley deriving its name from the village where our accommodation is located. The valley is one of the larger in the region and is known as a place where a lot of Polish Highlanders operate on local pastures\, hence the ties to Agrifuture. Participants taking part in this trip will get to not only enjoy the balance between nature and human activity\, but also see the cradle of the best oscypek cheese in the entirety of Podhale. Can you already taste it? \n\n\n\nRecommended for: participants of the #3 workshop\, EGEAns waiting for their first experience in mountain hiking\, agriculture enjoyers\, those who want to taste in local Tatra food\, i. e. oscypek \n\n\n\n\n\n\n#4 Mass tourism high above: Morskie Oko (medium hike)\n\n\n\n\nOne of the longer journeys will take us to one of the must-see points of the Tatra mountains. It is here that vast numbers of tourists from Poland and beyond walk up the classic road to marvel at the truly iconic\, blue miracle of nature. You guessed it\, you will get the chance to see the Morskie Oko\, Poland’s most known mountain lake. \n\n\n\nBefore reaching the final destination\, you will walk alongside the picturesque valley of Białka (Rybi Potok) river\, which is also the border between Poland and Slovakia. During the excursion itself you will: \n\n\n\n\nlearn the story about the Waterfalls of Mickiewicz\n\n\n\ntalk about the potential risk for the surrounding nature coming from the mass tourism near the Włosienica pasture and Morskie Oko lake\n\n\n\nadmire the views of the highest Polish mountain range\n\n\n\n\nWhile most of the road from the starting point of our hike named Palenica Białczańska is quite easily accessible (it is a paved road after all)\, the last 2 km to the Morskie Oko are much harder\, so please be prepared for possible slippery conditions! That is all we can say for now… \n\n\n\n\n\n\n#5 Into the Forest: Grzybowiec & Siklawica (medium-hard hike)\n\n\n\n\nCalling all forest lovers! During this medium hike you will be able to reconnect with nature and find inner peace\, which might come in handy after yet another of the crazy parties we have in store for you. \n\n\n\nThe hike will start directly from our accommodation\, where you will head south and enter the Tatra National Park. Moving along the Mała Łąka Valley and the Nad Reglami Path\, you will be able to hear the voices of the Podhale forests. Don’t you worry though\, as amazing viewpoints are also planned. You will reach the Grzybowiec peak (1417)\, from where an incredible view of the Tatras can be admired. On the way back you will get the chance to see the beautiful three-part Siklawica waterfall\, where many photos are bound to be taken. Following the Strążyska Valley and the Pod Reglami Path\, you will then be taken back to Dom Wczasowy Harnaś II\, with more fun activities awaiting. \n\n\n\nRecommended for: participants of the #1 workshop\, participants of the #5 workshop\, EGEAns with experience in mountain hiking\, hungover people \n\n\n\n\n\n\n#6 Glacial relief of the Tatras: Czarny Staw Gąsienicowy (hard hike)\n\n\n\n\nDoes neither of the previous excursions satisfy your need for a truly mountainous experience? Do you have greater background with mountain hiking? Do you not mind getting downright sweaty and gritty? If so\, join the utmost mountainous hike possible – the excursion to Czarny Staw Gąsienicowy!  \n\n\n\nSadly no glaciers are left in the Polish mountains now but many traces of their abundance in the past can be found. One of them is the titular Czarny Staw Gąsienicowy\, which is much different from Morskie Oko as it is far less exploited by tourists. \n\n\n\nGiven the conditions\, during this workshop you will: \n\n\n\n\ntake a longest hike possible…\n\n\n\n…which in return gives marvelous sights of Polish Tatras…\n\n\n\n…and the biggest of the Polish Tatras’ lakes.\n\n\n\n\nWe know you are already excited about it – come join us on the trail! \n\n\n\nRecommended for: EGEAns with greater experience in mountain hiking \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nDay schedule\n\n\n\nBrought to you by our Day Programme Team \n\n\n\n⚠️🌍 Proposed programme may differ 🌏⚠️ \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n \n\n\n\n📌 Location 📌\n\n\n\nRegion of Podhale\n\n\n\nPodhale is a picturesque and culturally rich region in southern Poland\, at the very base of the Tatra Mountains. We create spatial data based\, clear and intuitive maps and tools for everyone. Moreover\, we are the creator and owner of the OnGeo.pl portal and the Mapped Geoportal\, which together are the basis of knowledge about every parcel in Poland. \n\n\n\n\n\nThe Terrain Report available at OnGeo.pl finds use in any situation when one wants to find the characteristics of a chosen parcel. Whether it be the buying or selling of an estate or establishing the investment potential of a location\, the Terrain Report is your tool to use. Here\, apart from precise measurements of the parcel\, calculating its physical properties and describing its surroundings\, you will also acquire important information about the changes in the parcel’s neighbourhood that are already underway\, be it due to the Local Development Plan (MPZP)\, planned routes\, issued building permits or planned investments in land development\, which have already been agreed upon by local governments. \n\n\n\n\n\nThe main asset of the Terrain Report is the speed with which the information is at your hand. Hundreds of discrete characteristics of the parcel are presented in the form of a clear and succinct document\, all generated under 5 minutes. Currently the Report has up to 100 pages of figures and descriptions revolving around the estate of your choosing. Generating such a report by hand would require from one to a few days of hard and tedious work. The information displayed in the report are highly specialised spatial analyses and data recombined from multiple sources\, with the premise of acquiring information that is the most useful investment-wise. \n\n\n\n\n\nThe Mapped Geoportal on the other hand is a portal providing you with all the needed information about the space around us\, presented on customised maps. Thanks to the site you can generate the Satellite Image Report and the Archive Aerial Photos Report\, which both can be used to analyse land use change\, pinpoint the time of the occurrence of phenomena such as catastrophes (be it man-made or natural)\, monitor the changes in the landscape and plan agricultural activities or find law breaches in building activities. They can furthermore be used as an attachment to the report in building development or as a source of archival information about real estate.
