DESCRIPTION:Moving MountainsProgrammeArrival & DeparturePrice\n\nFrom 24th to 27th of November 2022 EGEA Augsburg invites you to join us at Shack‘n’Roll\, our winterly mountain cabin weekend in the heart of Bavaria.  \n\n\n\nAfter several Shack’n’Rolls and the last Camp‘n’Roll this summer\, we think it’s finally time for another winter adventure with our EGEA friends. Unfortunately\, our maximum capacity is extremely limited with 40 slots in total\, so be fast and get your tickets now for a 4-day trip with lots of fun! \n\n\n\nOnce again\, we will stay in a cosy cabin in the middle of the mountains\, do some upcycling\, hiking\, have a motto party an lots more. Not to forget some EGEA-classics like a BDC of course. A preliminary program is already planned\, but some small changes might occur.There are multiple day excursions\, projects or talks planned. You will have to bring a bed sheet\, sleeping bag and towels on your own\, as the cabin can’t provide any. A more detailed packing list will follow per Email. \n\n\n\nCovid-19: Currently there are no Covid restrictions in Germany\, however if this situation changes we must change regulations for this event as well. We will keep registered participants up to date via Mail.  \n\n\n\n  \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nThe Rissbachhaus is located about 25min by car from the next train station “Lenggries”. We will organize shuttles to pick you up. Please make sure you arrive in time and plan your trip accordingly. On Sunday we will also arrange a shuttle back to the train station. \n\n\n\nThere will be two pick-up times scheduled in accordance with train arrivals in Lenggries. Please plan your trip accordingly to make one of the two pick-up times! As we come closer to the event\, we’ll ask you to fill out a survey to let us know at which time you’d like to be picked up. \n\n\n\nFirst Pick-Up: 17:45 o’clock. Once you’ll arrive you will have enough time to set up your bed and enjoy a snow-cooled beer with old & new EGEA friends before dinner is served. \n\n\n\nSecond Pick-Up: 19:15 o’clock. The smell of freshly cooked dinner will lead you to the shack\, once you’ll arrive dinner will be served to revitalize you after a long journey. \n\n\n\nIn case you really cannot make it at all to one of the shuttles\, kindly let us know ASAP so we can plan accordingly. But please keep in mind that this is neither sustainable nor cheap to drive the extra 50km 😉 We’d rather host you the night before\, so let us know if you need a bed! \n\n\n\nDeparture shuttle times: We will provide an earlier shuttle and a later shuttle. The later shuttle will be at the train station latest by 12:00o’clock; so it’s best to plan your departure somewhere between the 9:47 and the 12:17 train. Here too\, we will ask you to fill in a survey closer to the event so we can organize the cars. Please understand that we might have to take you to the train station a bit earlier than your actual train\, so we can fully use our cars capacities 🙂 \n\n\n\nRissbachhaus Lenggries\n\n\n\n\n\nDay Pass – 10€: For the first time we will offer a day pass for our ‘n’Roll Events! You are very welcome to join us on saturday 26th of November for the day. Included in the Prica are three meals (breakfast\, lunch\, dinner) as well as the programme for saturday. Please note: we can not provide beds or a shuttle to/from the train station for day visitors. Together we will find out what zones have geothermal potential and how to exploit it to our benefit. \n\n\n\n\n\nAC 2022 Workshop Leader Andrei\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nBiodiversity of Danube River\nBiodiversity in general and along rivers is something that’s constantly changing. With human settlements\, drainages and river corrections for cities and agriculture\, rivers transform. In the first session of our workshop\, we want to focus on the historical changes of the flow paths and thus the biodiversity of the Danube. With the tool https://www.oldmapsonline.org/\,a specific area of the Danube river and its transition throughout history can be observed. After channelisation of rivers\, revitalisations are becoming a bigger topic. What are key aspects in revitalisation projects and is it possible to reconstruct the initial quality of the ecosystem? \n\n\n\nThe biodiversity of the Danube as one of the longest rivers in Europe is unique. It originates in South-Western Germany and ends in the Black Sea in Europes second largest river delta. A general introduction into the biodiversity of the Danube is given. Ecosystems of the Danube river are investigated in more detail with two foci: the local environment of Budapest and the Danube delta. \n\n\n\nIn a group project\, a segment of the Danube river biodiversity is investigated in more detail. What is the current and what is the past biodiversity of the chosen area? What “corrections” were made that lead to a loss in biodiversity? What measures could be done to increase biodiversity again? How feasible are revitalisation projects? The answers to these questions and also further elaborations are summarised in posters that are presented during the workshop presentations. \n\n\n\n\n\nAC 2022 Workshop Co-leader Celine\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAC 2022 Workshop Co-leader Juliette\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nEffects of Urbanizatıion on Groundwater\nHave you ever wondered where your daily tap water is coming from? Where it has been through and how it is stored in the ground beneath your feet? Then this workshop is for you. In a couple of sessions\, you will get to know the basics of groundwater recharge\, geological architecture of aquifer systems and the various chemical influences on water quality with regards to the greater Budapest area. We will try to examine the influence of urbanisation on groundwater supply and quality and by the end of this workshop\, you will be able to hopefully appreciate this everyday commodity a bit more. \n\n\n\n(1) Session: explanation of water cycle\, groundwater formation and reservoir architecture (maybe identify influx sites for surface water within the Budapest area by utilizing geological maps …) \n\n\n\n(2) Session: for the scientific excursion walk around the previously identified sites and measure concentration of anthropogenic induced chemical compounds (lead\, nitrate\, potassium\, …) in surface wells \n\n\n\n(3) Session: evaluate measured concentrations\, discuss the source of each measured compound and effects/ solutions for improving groundwater quality\, map the results and create a poster for the workshop presentation \n\n\n\n\n\nAC 2022 Workshop Leader Jan\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nProtection of Our Rivers\nRivers\, one of the most important water resources of our world. Over recent years\, rivers have been polluted with various substances introduced by humans. Water is an essential resource and its purity is being dramatically endangered by our pollution and urgently needs protecting. There are various types of pollutants\, some of which are general detritus\, microplastics\, oils\, and the residues from chemical manufacturing and these are all contaminating our water resources not only endangering our health but especially the health of our planet. Without water\, terrestrial and aquatic life cannot survive. Rivers act as the main transport of freshwater\, and therefore need protection at all costs. However\, this protection does not only mean restoring the natural ecosystems to improve their biodiversity\, but also taking a look at the natural water balance of the river to ensure its health and track contamination due to pollution. Plastic\, as a main contributor to freshwater pollution\, can be found in rivers as eroded small particles which we call microplastics. These can be found in almost every ecosystem\, but in rivers especially\, which is why we will be focusing on protecting our rivers in regards to the concentrations of microplastic in them. \n\n\n\nIn our Workshop our main focus will be on general river pollution with a special take on microplastic in watercourses. As the accommodation is located on an island\, surrounded by branches of the Danube river we will focus on the pollution of the Danube river and compare it with other rivers. In one session we want to have a small excursion to the Szentendrei-Dunaag to measure the flow velocity on the basis of which we can calculate the approximate amount of microplastic that could be deposited in the river (that’s just possible if we can get the equipment for this\, but we are on it). Afterwards\, we want to compare the data with other data from the Danube river and see if there is a difference or if it is similar in the side branch to the Danube. Additionally\, if we can’t get the measuring equipment or don’t have enough time\, we want to build a map in QGIS about the amount of pollution in the Danube\, as it is the most polluted river in Hungary\, mostly polluted by microplastic. According to the Wessling – Quality of life research group\, the Danube river counts 50 ± 7.07 particles per cubic metre. DESCRIPTION:World Urban Forum is the world’s largest and most important cyclical event dedicated to urban development. The Eleventh Session of the World Urban Forum 11 (WUF11) will take place at the International Congress Centre in Katowice on 26-30 June 2022. For five days the heart of Upper Silesia will become the capital of all cities in the world.The theme of WUF11 is Transforming our cities for a better urban future. It is meant to be an invitation to discuss the latest trends that are changing our cities. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nWorld Urban Forum sessions are held upon the initiative of the United Nations (UN).Program > https://wuf.unhabitat.org/main-events \n\n\n\nAt the event will be present the most important creators and influencers in future of cities\, among the thousands of people are expected to attend WUF11 which is co-organized by Poland’s Ministry of Development Funds and Regional Policy\, the Municipal Office of Katowice. \n\n\n\nEGEA on World Urban ForumEGEA Katowice decide organiaze event to facilitate participation in the WUF for egean’s. We provide accommodation\, the best food\, public transport (7 day ticket – you can stay even longer in Ruben place for free)\, plan and guidance. Moreover we will show the local face of the post-industrial region of Silesia\, which was chosen for the host of the WUF for a reason. In addition 24 of July (one day before event started) we will have small local trip and bonnfire in Ruben’s place with no additional cost. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nKatowice City ActivityThe scale of the event changed the face of the entire city\, turning it into a kind of city festival.
