DESCRIPTION:Introduction\n\n\n\nServus fellow EGEAns! You want to dive into the life of an real EGEAn? Then the Newbie Weekend is a great event to start from! For three days\, we offer you many great activities to do and surely a great time! 😉 \n\n\n\nFive entities (Vienna\, Brno\, Bratislava\, Graz and Tartu) have come together to bring you the best event to brighten bleak November days. With exciting presentations from already experienced EGEAns\, traditional evening activities\, trainings\, work-shops and excursions you get the taste of what EGEA is all about. \n\n\n\nEveryone is welcome\, of course all Newbies as well as already experienced EGEAns! \n\n\n\nAccomodation\n\n\n\nThe Newbie Weekend Austria takes place in Tauchen am Wechsel\, a cozy little village in the Austrian Alps\, with the federal states border of Lower Austria & Styria going straight through it! The accomodation where we staying is called The Blue Whale Education Center\, a former Gasthaus (“Inn” in English) which got turned into a seminar house\, run by the non-profit association called Generation Europa. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nArrival to the Event\n\n\n\nTrain\nThis is how you can get to the accomodation the easiest\, because the nearest train station is only a 5min walk away! If you come from Vienna\, you just have to take a train to Wiener Neustadt\, there are trains very frequently\, up to every 5-10min. In Wiener Neustadt\, you just need to take the REX92 and get out at the station “Tauchen-Schaueregg”. From there\, you just walk ~5min to the accomodation\, it’s a bit up to the main street and then down the street to the small river\, you surely can’t miss it!You can also look up at the schedule website of the ÖBB (Austrian Railway) or the ÖBB Scotty app how to get there\, just use “Tauchen-Schaueregg Bahnst” as your destination! \n\n\n\n\nCar\nIf you get there by car\, just use this address: Tauchen 125\, 7421 MönichkirchenIt’s an 1h drive from Vienna or Graz\, 2h from Bratislava or Maribor\, and 3h from Ljubljana or Brno 😉 \n\n\n\n\nPlane\nIf you are coming from very far away\, and there’s no other choice than to fly\, then don’t worry! SUMMARY:WINTER OSM IN LJUBLJANA
DESCRIPTION:Dear EGEAns\, \n\n\n\nfrom the 27th to the 30th of November\, the Winter Organisation and Strategy Meeting (WOSM) will be held in Ljubljana. During the Event we will have several sessions on relevant topics in EGEA. If you have a topic in mind that should be discussed you are welcome to suggest it. The event will include interesting discussions about the future of EGEA as well as fun and relaxed evening activities. \n\n\n\n\n\n\nWhat is the OSM?\nIt is a biannual meeting for all official bodies in EGEA. All Team representatives\, Regional Teams\, Supporting Roles\, Project representatives\, Congress Organisers\, Board and Advisory Board meet there to discuss the future of EGEA in order to come up with a common strategy and ways of accomplishing it. Everyone can register to participate in the OSM\, suggest topics and apply for the Support Fund. \n\n\n\n\nMinutes of the last year\nYou can suggest topics for the different sessions which will be held during the WOSM. For ideas and more information you can check the Last WOSM and SOSM minutes. \n\n\n\n\nMinutes\n\n\n\n\n\nWhy Ljubljana?\nOur main source of motivation for organising WOSM25 is our passion for organising international events and enjoyment of hosting members of any and all EGEA entities in our lovely city. Part of our interest in organising WOSM25 also lies in the very members of our entity. We are endlessly proud of the members of EGEA Ljubljana who currently hold important roles in the Board of EGEA and the East&Med Regional Team\, so we’d love to help them on their journey as much as possible. \n\n\n\nThe nature of the city itself also holds a big part of why we feel Ljubljana is the place for WOSM25\, as did the figureheads in the 1800s\, when they organised the Congress of Ljubljana in 1821. Fear not\, this time around\, you won’t need to rely on horse-drawn carriages\, Ljubljana\, as the capital of Slovenia\, is very accessible\, both with public and private transport. \n\n\n\n\nHow to get there\nLjubljana is well connected with European countries\, so you have a couple of options regarding transfer. Our accommodation\, C-Punkt Hostel\, is located in the city centre and is only a scenic walk through the old town away from the Faculty of Arts\, where the Department of Geography is located. \n\n\n\nTo keep the event as green as possible we recommend travelling to Ljubljana via bus or train. Ljubljana is well connected through FlixBus and international train services\, the journey to the accommodation itself will then finish with a 20 odd minute walk from the bus and train station. \n\n\n\nThose of you flying are welcome to check connections to Ljubljana Airport\, though your options will most likely be quite expensive. The airport itself is well connected with the city with a direct bus line. When looking at flight connections we recommend checking out neighbouring airports such as Trieste\, Venice (Treviso and Marco Polo)\, Zagreb\, or even Vienna. There are some FlixBus connections from those airports but you could also check out a shuttle service Slovenians use to get around different airports called Goopti (though that might be quite expensive especially for solo travelling).  \n\n\n\nIf you are planning on travelling by car\, Ljubljana is notoriously difficult to park in affordably\, however we do have parking available at the accommodation. We recommend ridesharing to keep the number of cars to a minimum and help create a greener event. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nYou can find the WOSM25 schedule below. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nThe Registration and Open Call for Sessions form is open until the 1st of November (23:59 CET).

SUMMARY:EGEA Torun welcomes EGEA Prague
DESCRIPTION:On November 28th-30th\, we had the pleasure of welcoming members of EGEA Prague as part of an exchange between entities. During their stay in Toruń\, we showed our neighbors the historic Gothic buildings of Toruń’s Old Town\, the Nicolaus Copernicus House\, and the Center for Contemporary Art. In addition\, we celebrated St. Andrew’s Day together and showed them how to tell fortunes. On the last day\, we visited a cat café together.  \n\n\n\nWe were very pleased to host the members of EGEA Prague and we are already looking forward to the re-exchange.
