SUMMARY:Karstic Weekend '23
DESCRIPTION:An event by EGEA Ljubljana organized in the heart of the Slovene karstic region surrounded by the forested Dinaric mountains. Participants will discover this unique area of Slovene geography and all of its characteristics\, from caves\, poljes\, dolines\, its history\, settlement\, bears\, forests and everything inbetween with the help of karst researchers and experts in the field. \n\n\n\nApplications have closed but keep a close eye on our Instagram page for any updates and possible last minute spots! \n\n\n\nLOCATION\n\n\n\nThe event will take place in the village of Nova Štifta\, 10 min away from the town of Ribnica located about an hour south of Ljubljana by train. The area is famous for its centuries old woodenware tradition and\, of course\, for its karstic plateaus\, poljes\, dolines\, rivers and forests\, which hide populations of all three of the large carnivores living in Slovenia – wolves\, bears and lynx! Participants will be staying in a monastery right next to one of the most important pilgrimage churches of the area\, perched on a little hill overlooking the karstic Ribnica polje and on the edge of the forested Dinaric mountains. The event will start in Ribnica\, which can easily be reached by train and bus from Ljubljana; the rest of the transport until our goodbyes in Ribnica on Sunday will be taken care off by us and is already included in the participation fee! \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nPROGRAMME\n\n\n\nWe will work together with institutions and societies connected to karst to give you an insight into this interesting and maybe lesser known field of geography and other connected sciences. After arriving to Ribnica and getting a feel for the local culture and geography\, we will organize an introductory lecture on all things karst given by one of the researchers from the Department of Geography of the University of Ljubljana. Next day\, a karst researcher from the Department will guide an excursion to the poljes of Clasiccal karst and the Križna cave. Stay tuned for more details\, but there will definitely be plenty of caves\, dolines\, poljes\, karstic rivers etc. involved! The scientific theme will continue on Saturday with workshops organized by even more geographers and other karst scientists on various topics (The management of large carnivores in the Dinarides\, Wind power production possibilities and limitations on karst\, others TBA)\, while there will be another half day excursion held in the vicinity of the accomodation in the afternoon. Of course the whole weekend won’t be just karst and science\, EGEA classics and plenty of Slovene experiences will also make an appearance! \n\n\n\n\nSome sights from the area which we will probably discover during the weekend 🙂 \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nHOW TO GET TO RIBNICA\n\n\n\nRibnica is easily reachable by public transport from Ljubljana\, while reaching it from other cities in Slovenia or Croatia without transfering in Ljubljana will be quite a challenge. Ljubljana is well connected to other European cities by frequent Flixbus connections\, nightrains and other international train connections (use the Deutsche Bahn website to find connections)\, while arriving by plane to Ljubljana airport might not be the cheapest option due to a lack of low cost carriers (consider Tarvisio\, Trieste or Zagreb instead if flying is a must). \n\n\n\n\nBY TRAIN\nRibnica is easily reachable by train\, since it lies on the trainline between Ljubljana and Kočevje\, which was completely renovated in the past years with brand new train stations. There are 11 trains a day from Ljubljana\, with most journeys requiring an easy transfer in the town of Grosuplje. You can check the timetable and buy tickets on the webpage of Slovene railways. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nBY BUS\nThere are hourly buses to Ribnica leaving from the Main bus station in Ljubljana (often called Ljubljana AP on the bus timetables)\, right in front of the Main train station. You can use the website of the Ljubljana bus station to check for the bus timetables. Unfortunately you cannot check for journeys which require a transfer\, so if you are coming from Bled for instance\, you have to check separately for the connection first to Ljubljana AP and from there to Ribnica. The two main bus companies in this part of the country are Arriva and Nomago. The correct name of the bus station in Ribnica is Ribnica na Dolenjskem. \n\n\n\nMost buses to Ribnica are bound to Kočevje\, so look for signs to Kočevje and/or Ribnica on the bus station in Ljubljana. You can buy the ticket directly from the bus driver\, but beware\, it’s cash only and the bus drivers might not accept 50€ bills. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nBY CAR\nIf you are travelling by car\, there is ample parking space available in the centre of Ribnica\, most of it free\, so finding a place to park before heading to the accommodation shouldn’t pose a problem. There is also a large parking lot next to the Rokodelski center if the parking spots in the centre will be taken. There is also enough parking space next to our accommodation in Nova Štifta\, where you can park after the opening ceremony in Ribnica. \n\n\n\n\n\nFor any questions regarding getting to the Karstic Weekend or tips for things to see in Slovenia before or after the event\, don’t hesitate to contact us on Instagram or write us on Whattsapp (+386 64 150 086).

It is located near Lake Bęskie. The resort has its own beach\, bikes and water sports equipment rental\, football fields and volleyball courts. Also\, let’s not forget about fireplaces and lots of areas to relax! \n\n\n\nWe hope that we all can see each other in beautiful Masuria soon! \n\n\n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nOśrodek Wczasowy BĘSIA\, Bęsia 21\, 11-311 Kolno \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nWorkshops & LEADERS\n\n\n\n\nSlavic Culture and Tourism in Masuria\nSTANISŁAW KONIECZNY\, EGEA WARSAW \n\n\n\n\nIf you have an artsy soul and are more aware of beauty and tradition\, then you have to choose this workshop! Connecting local traditions with modern tourism may be a great chance for the development of this region\, and you can be a part of it! In the theoretical part\, participants would get acquainted with the most important traditions of Slavs\, especially those related to the region where the event will take place. Customs and their impact on the current cultural landscape of Masuria will be presented. Then the participants in the practical part would focus on the possibilities of promoting Masurian culture in modern tourism. Their task would be to develop an idea for a regional product/event that would refer to the Slavic tradition. The outcome of this workshop will also be sent to local authorities as our contribution to the local community. During the practical part participants will come up with four scenarios of how this type of farming can develop in this region. Ready scenarios will be sent to local authorities\, as our contribution to the local community. \n\n\n\n\n\nThe impact of the Pleistocene Glaciations on the Natural Environment of Masuria\nKLAUDIA KURPIOS\, EGEA WARSAW \n\n\n\n\nThe Masurian region is known not only for its lakes\, but also for its interesting\, very varied terrain. If you want to find out how the glaciers period shaped its area and what happened to it because of them\, or if you are a big fan of geomorphology\, “The impact of glaciers on the natural environment of the Masurian region” workshop is for you. During the presentation there will be a short introduction to the topic\, when we’re gonna talk about basic terms\, and then we will discuss glaciers themselves\, what landforms they brought and what is happening with them nowadays. The practical part will contain a short trip around our accommodation to see how it looks in this area\, we’ll do some measurements\, and after that we will try to draw maps of it. \n\n\n\n\n\nReal Estate Management in Poland and Geodesy in Practice\nWIKTORIA RYCZKO\, EGEA OLSZTYN \n\n\n\n\nThe goal of this workshop is to introduce concepts in the field of geodesy and real estate management in Poland. During the presentation\, we will discuss legal issues related to real estate management and present the operation of geodetic equipment. In the practical part of the workshop\, everyone will have a chance to work with professional surveying equipment and practical tasks. We will also answer the question of what geodesy is and what concept is hidden under it. We will show that geodesy can be very interesting and not boring at all! \n\n\n\n\n\nAbout that ArcGIS\nKRZYSZTOF FILIPKOWSKI\, EGEA WARSAW \n\n\n\n\nAre you into cartography and GIS? Want to learn something useful and much needed on today’s labor market? If you answered yes at least for one of those questions this workshop is for you! The workshop “Applying ArcGIS in Practice” aims to showcase the capabilities of the software to help capture\, analyze\, and present spatial data using tools built into the ArcGIS Online cloud to choose from: Preparing for Data Acquisition in ArcGIS Collector Present data in ArcGIS Web AppBuilder and configure web applications Preparation and publication of presentations in Story Maps Be aware that you need your own laptop with ArcGIS Desktop installed. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nTRAININGS & LEADERS\n\n\n\n\nPhotography\nAMELIA BARTNICKA\, EGEA WARSAW \n\n\n\n\nDuring the training\, we will learn the basic information and parameters regarding photography. What affects the appearance of our photo? Next\, we will use in practice various ways that will make the photos taken with your phone more interesting and aesthetic! If you’ve seen tutorials on Tik Tok or Instagram on how to improve your photos\, after this training you won’t need them anymore! Training is the perfect opportunity for all the EGEAns who want their travel reports to be the best they can be. \n\n\n\n\n\nProcrastination\, no thanks!\nKAMIL PUCEK\, EGEA WARSAW \n\n\n\n\nA topic as old as the hills\, but this slogan entered the mainstream around 2017. Many of us simply call it laziness. In this day and age of ‘productivity’ we are exposed to a lot of pressure from our surroundings and the content coming at us primarily from the internet. The short training I am going to conduct will be a kind of knowledge pill addressing the issue of procrastination and\, above all an opportunity to learn some tools to change our own self-esteem – especially in the aspect of analysing our activities. \n\n\n\n\n\nBody movement\nZUZA PYSKATY\, EGEA WARSAW \n\n\n\n\nIf you love to dance or on the contrary – you stay away from densflor at parties – this is the perfect workout for you!! During the hour-long exercises\, practice to bring out all your abilities\, bad and good emotions and feel what your body is able to do during movement. The exercise you will be doing is for every level of movement skills\, so don’t wait\, just open up to new possibilities \n\n\n\n\n\nCatch your wood\nOLIWIA BUŁCZYŃSKA\, EGEA WARSAW \n\n\n\n\nDo you want to spend time creatively and make your own souvenir of the trip? Then the training \, “catch your wood” will be perfect for you! During the class we will make our own souvenirs out of wood: painting on it and pasting with patterns from napkins (decoupage). We will burn the inscriptions of your choice on each work to make it as personalized as possible! In addition\, everyone will be able to choose whether they want their wood to be in the form of a magnet or perhaps to hang on the wall. During the training\, I will tell you about how interesting material wood is and how you can creatively use it and even make money from it! Remember this is a training for everyone regardless of skill! The only thing you need to take with you the willingness to do something fun and new! \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nEVENT PROGRAM\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\ntransport options & 1st day info\n\n\n\n\nAccommodation details & Opening Ceremony:\nOśrodek Wczasowy BĘSIABęsia 21\, 11-311 KolnoPoland \n\n\n\nOPENING CEREMONY\n\n\n\nUniversity of Warmia and Mazury in Olsztyn15 Romana Prawocheńskiego St.\, 10-724 Olsztyn\, Poland \n\n\n\nTo get to the location of the opening ceremony from the train station or city center you can choose public transport: bus 103\, 109 or tram. \n\n\n\nWe will start with a quick tour of the beautiful UWM campus at 10 am\, which includes a lake\, beaches and parks. Then the registration will start at 10:30 am\, followed by the Opening Ceremony at 11 am. Then\, there will be time for your transportation to Bęsia. \n\n\n\n*THE TRANSPORT FROM OLSZTYN TO BĘSIA IS NOT INCLUDED IN THE PARTICIPANTS FEE AND SHOULD BE ARRANGED ON YOUR OWN. A train ride from Olsztyn to Bęsia usually takes less than 40 minutes and and costs around 15PLN. \n\n\n\n\nHow to get to Olsztyn by train?\nHere is the website of Polish Railways (PKP) – https://rozklad-pkp.pl/en. You can buy your tickets with a 51% discount if you have a valid Student Card from a Polish University or you have Polish citizenship and have the ISIC (website of ISIC –  https://www.isic.org). \n\n\n\nTickets for national connections are available only 1 month before the date of your journey (so if you want to buy tickets for the 2th of June you can buy them only after the 2th of May). Tickets for international connections can be bought way earlier (even now). \n\n\n\nYou can travel to Olsztyn from every bigger city in Poland (Warsaw\, Kraków\, Poznań\, Wrocław\, and Gdańsk). It takes between 2 to 4 hours to get there from Warsaw\, Gdańsk\, and Poznań) or 6 – 7 hours from Kraków and Wrocław. \n\n\n\nFrom every city\, you can travel the day before or on the day of the congress (9th of May). Most of the trains arrive in Olsztyn between 9 am and 15 pm. \n\n\n\n\nHow to get to Olsztyn by bus?\nFlixbus arrives at Olsztyn only around 9 pm\, so if you want to travel with Flixbus you will have to arrive there the day before (8th of May). It is line 1221 and you can travel with it from Kraków or Warsaw (also straight from WAW and WMI airport). \n\n\n\nYou can also travel by Polonus from Warsaw to Olsztyn. It leaves at 10:10 am from West Station in Warsaw and arrives at 2:40 pm in Olsztyn. \n\n\n\n\nHow to get to Olsztyn by car?\nYou can travel by bla bla car\, but remember that drivers often post their offers only 2 – 3 days before the ride. \n\n\n\nHere is a sheet that we created to ease ride-sharing between EGEAns! You can switch between sheets depending on whether you are offering or needing a car ride. \n\n\n\nCar sharing \n\n\n\nMost of the highways in Poland are for free\, so you don’t have to worry about paying for the ride. Here is the list of paid highways: \n\n\n\n\nA1 between Rusocin and Nowa Wieś (152 km)\n\n\n\nA2 between Konin and Stryków (99 km) and Konin and Świecko (255km)\n\n\n\nA4 between Kraków and Katowice (61 km) and Wrocław and Sośnica (160 km)\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nOUR ORGATEAM\n\n\n\n \n\n\n\n\n\n\njulia NEJMANI’m Julia! In my free time\, I like to attend the theater both as a viewer and as an actor (I love musicals). As a geographer\, I’m most interested in issues related to regions. I’m the biggest onion hater\, so I don’t like dumplings with it. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nKAROLINA SENTYRZ-KOŁODZIEJHi! I’m Karolina and I’m from EGEA Kraków. In my free time I play with my 3 lovely dogs. In my free time I eat as many chips as I can\, and besides that I love to swim\, dance and learn about cultural heritage. In my free time\, I like to read books\, especially fantasy novels. In geography\, I am passionate about studying different cultures and landscapes\, as well as discovering interesting places around the world and expanding my knowledge in GIS. SUMMARY:Alumni X-Mas Event
DESCRIPTION:Alumni X-MAS Event\n\n\n\n\n\n\n„.. Last Christmas I gave you my heart\, but the very next day you gave it away…” \n\n\n\nThis song by Wham and the sale of Lebkuchen in every supermarket is a clear sign that Christmas is coming closer. And even if the rainy autumn weather doesn’t quite awaken the Christmas spirit yet\, EGEA Augsburg Alumni would like to invite you! \n\n\n\nWe would like to spend a wonderful\, wintery day with you. On Saturday morning we will go explore some of Augsburg’s sights before we reminisce nostalgically of past times\, while having lunch at the campus (don’t worry\, we won’t revive those mediocre-mensa-memories). In the afternoon we will go ice-skating together; of course\, this activity is only in preparation for the evening. Because\, what better reason is there to drink Glühwein\, if not to warm yourself back up? 😀 \n\n\n\nAugsburg has a range of Christmas markets\, which we will explore\, and get a taste of. This will round off the day\, before we will make ourselves on our way back home. \n\n\n\nPrice\n\n\n\nUnlike for other EGEA events\, there is no fixed price\, as you will pay only for the things you consume or take part in. We have listed costs below\, so you can get an estimate. \n\n\n\n\nIce-Skating Entrance: 4€\nRental of Skates: 3.5€\nDay-Ticket Public Transport: ~4-7€ (depends on group size)\nLunch: 10-15€\n+ Glühwein & other consumables at the Christmas markets\n\n\n\n\nAccommodation\n\n\n\nAs this is a one-day event we have not booked any accommodation\, but if you are arriving from further away\, we will try and find a host for you in Augsburg. Let us know with your registration whether you need a host. \n\n\n\nRegistration\n\n\n\nUse this link to sign up until the 27th November 23:59 o’clock 😊 \nAny Questions left?! Contact us via: christmas.augsburg@gmail.com \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

SUMMARY:Shack'n'Roll XXL
DESCRIPTION:Moving MountainsProgrammeArrival & DeparturePrice\n\nFrom 24th to 27th of November 2022 EGEA Augsburg invites you to join us at Shack‘n’Roll\, our winterly mountain cabin weekend in the heart of Bavaria.  \n\n\n\nAfter several Shack’n’Rolls and the last Camp‘n’Roll this summer\, we think it’s finally time for another winter adventure with our EGEA friends. Unfortunately\, our maximum capacity is extremely limited with 40 slots in total\, so be fast and get your tickets now for a 4-day trip with lots of fun! \n\n\n\nOnce again\, we will stay in a cosy cabin in the middle of the mountains\, do some upcycling\, hiking\, have a motto party an lots more. Not to forget some EGEA-classics like a BDC of course. A preliminary program is already planned\, but some small changes might occur. There are multiple day excursions\, projects or talks planned. You will have to bring a bed sheet\, sleeping bag and towels on your own\, as the cabin can’t provide any. A more detailed packing list will follow per Email. \n\n\n\nCovid-19: Currently there are no Covid restrictions in Germany\, however if this situation changes we must change regulations for this event as well. We will keep registered participants up to date via Mail. \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nThe Rissbachhaus is located about 25min by car from the next train station “Lenggries”. We will organize shuttles to pick you up. Please make sure you arrive in time and plan your trip accordingly. On Sunday we will also arrange a shuttle back to the train station. \n\n\n\nThere will be two pick-up times scheduled in accordance with train arrivals in Lenggries. Please plan your trip accordingly to make one of the two pick-up times! As we come closer to the event\, we’ll ask you to fill out a survey to let us know at which time you’d like to be picked up. \n\n\n\nFirst Pick-Up: 17:45 o’clock. Once you’ll arrive you will have enough time to set up your bed and enjoy a snow-cooled beer with old & new EGEA friends before dinner is served. \n\n\n\nSecond Pick-Up: 19:15 o’clock. The smell of freshly cooked dinner will lead you to the shack\, once you’ll arrive dinner will be served to revitalize you after a long journey. \n\n\n\nIn case you really cannot make it at all to one of the shuttles\, kindly let us know ASAP so we can plan accordingly. But please keep in mind that this is neither sustainable nor cheap to drive the extra 50km 😉 We’d rather host you the night before\, so let us know if you need a bed! \n\n\n\nDeparture shuttle times: We will provide an earlier shuttle and a later shuttle. The later shuttle will be at the train station latest by 12:00o’clock; so it’s best to plan your departure somewhere between the 9:47 and the 12:17 train. Here too\, we will ask you to fill in a survey closer to the event so we can organize the cars. Please understand that we might have to take you to the train station a bit earlier than your actual train\, so we can fully use our cars capacities 🙂 \n\n\n\nRissbachhaus Lenggries\n\n\n\n\n\nDay Pass – 10€: For the first time we will offer a day pass for our ‘n’Roll Events! You are very welcome to join us on saturday 26th of November for the day. Included in the Prica are three meals (breakfast\, lunch\, dinner) as well as the programme for saturday. Please note: we can not provide beds or a shuttle to/from the train station for day visitors. If you don’t have the option to return home on saturday evening you can find a cozy spot on the parquet by the fireplace. \n\n\n\n\n\nEGEA Augsburg is looking forward to a great weekend in the Alps with you <3 🙂 \n\n\n\nTickets are available from 25.07.2022 12:00 to 15.09.2022 23:59. SUMMARY:BACK TO THE ROOTS - Eastern Regional Congress 2022
DESCRIPTION:Hey\, \n\n\n\nPage is updated continuously. We strive to make it readable and full of valuable information for you. \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\n\nIn the rush of today’s life\, we often forget what’s really important. Family\, friends\, culture\, and traditions are what shape us. Sometimes we should stop and try to come back to the roots. Finding peace and tranquility is not only crucial to ourselves but also for the whole planet and future generations. Fast living and overconsumption led to climate crisis and loss of our identity.  \n\n\n\nParticipants will take part in workshops and trainings in which they’ll learn about the Masurian Region – history\, traditions\, geography\, and meaning of it. The presence of people from all around Europe will guarantee the exchange of cultures and experiences. It may simplify finding their own roots and make it more memorable. \n\n\n\nFive days spent in the bosom of nature in the best company\, full of theoretical and practical knowledge will be an unforgettable journey within yourself. \n\n\n\nYou don’t want to miss it! \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nBasic information\n\n\n\nWhen?\n\n\n\n\n  \n\n\n\n\n\n\nHow expensive is ERC?\n\n\n\n\n\nWhere?\n\n\n\nEastern Regional Congress 2022 is taking place in Ostrów Pieckowski. While sailing across the lake Mikołajskie\, one of the most popular Masurian lakes\, we will measure the cleanliness of the lake using a professional device provided by The Jagiellonian University. You will have a chance to explore unusual architecture\, try local food and feel the spirit of the Polish countryside. \n\n\n\nThe subject of the workshop concerns the Cittaslow association\, which brings together small cities around the world. As part of the workshop\, you will learn the main features of cities belonging to the network and what benefits and obligations result from belonging to Cittaslow. During fieldwork\, you will assess how Polish cities pursue common goals and ideas of the organization. If you are interested\, check their website. https://www.cittaslow.org/.  \n\n\n\nWorkshop leaders\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAlicja Lis\n\n\n\nUniwersytet Jagielloński\, EGEA Kraków \n\n\n\nFacebook\n\nInstagram\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nPatrycja Maćkowiak\n\n\n\nUniwersytet Jagielloński\, EGEA Kraków \n\n\n\nFacebook\n\nInstagram\n\n\n\n\n\n\nLimnology in practice\n\n\n\n„Limnology in practice” is a workshop during which you will discover and learn about Polish lakes in Masuria. In the beginning we are going to present theoretical knowledge about limnology\, then it is time for measurement and taking samples. At the end we will draw conclusions from our work. We also want to touch upon the problem of building a motorway through Masuria and how it can affect the environment of lakes. \n\n\n\nExcursion\n\n\n\nThe science excursion will contain the measurement of the local lake on boats or canoes. After that we are going to visit a nearby educational path which shows the natural environment of Masurian water birds. The last part of the excursion will take place in Mrągowo\, where the motorway through Masuria will be built. The samples taken there will be studied later to determine pollution of these waters. \n\n\n\nWorkshop leader\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nLuana Schena\n\n\n\nUniversity of Zurich\, EGEA Zurich \n\n\n\nFacebook\n\nInstagram\n\n\n\n\n\n\nJourney to the roots of herbs and sustainable farming\nCloseup of freshly harvested thyme holding by hands\n\n\n\nThe workshop “Journey to the roots of herbs and sustainable farming” will take you literally to the roots of herbs – we will kick off the workshop with a walk in the Congress’ surroundings to gather edible roots and plants – dandelions\, nettles\, dead nettles\, chavil\, wild onions and whatever we are lucky to find. This will be accompanied by wild salad\, nettle soup and dandelion root coffee. \n\n\n\nExcursion\n\n\n\nDuring the excursion we will visit a local Garden specialized in growing herbs and breeding butterflies\, where we will learn about different herbs\, make herb tea mixtures and natural soap. \n\n\n\nWorkshop leader\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nMichalina Pietras\n\n\n\nUniversity of Copenhagen \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nWeronika Ziółkiewicz\n\n\n\nJagiellonian University\, EGEA Kraków \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nTransport Tips&Tricks\n\n\n\n\nAddress of our accommodation is:\nOśrodek Wczasowy Ostrów PieckowskiPiecki 7\, 11-710 PieckiPoland \n\n\n\nCoordinates:53.776160081439635 N21.34568483082378 E \n\n\n\nOpening Ceremony\n\n\n\nWarmińsko – Mazurski University in Olsztyn2 Michała Oczapowskiego St. 10-719\, Poland(the exact room where registration is going to take place will be published soon).  \n\n\n\nTo get to the location of the opening ceremony from the train station or city center you can choose public transport: bus 103\, 109 or tram. To help you navigate through the city use the app Jakdojade or Google Maps. Just in case you can always ask people for directions. Registration will be available from 12 am and some food will be offered. The opening ceremony will start at 2 pm\, and soon after we will go by bus to the Congress location\, so keep in mind to arrive on time. The bus is included in the participants fee. \n\n\n\n\nHow to get to Olsztyn\, by train?\nHere is the website of Polish Railways (PKP) – https://rozklad-pkp.pl/en. You can buy your tickets with a 51% discount if you have a valid Student Card from a Polish University or you have Polish citizenship and have the ISIC (website of ISIC –  https://www.isic.org). \n\n\n\nTickets for national connections are available only 1 month before the date of your journey (so if you want to buy tickets for the 9th of May you can buy them only after the 9th of April). \n\n\n\n\nHow to get to Olsztyn\, by bus?\nFlixbus arrives at Olsztyn only around 9 pm\, so if you want to travel with Flixbus you will have to arrive there the day before (8th of May). It is line 1221 and you can travel with it from Kraków or Warsaw (also straight from WAW and WMI airport). \n\n\n\nYou can also travel by Polonus from Warsaw to Olsztyn. It leaves at 10:10 am from West Station in Warsaw and arrives at 2:40 pm in Olsztyn \n\n\n\nSupport EGEA and use this link to buy tickets for Flixbus: https://www.flixbus.de/?awc=13945_1619799311_491eef1e49e28b17461eb3ae98dc6916&wt_mc=.de.flixbus.aff.generic.651023-AW.2461752-AW.ad&wt_cc1=-aff&utm_source=awde.generic&utm_medium=aff&utm_campaign=651023-AW.2461752-AW.-aff&utm_term=&utm_content=de.flixbuss  \n\n\n\n\nHow to get to Olsztyn\, by plane?\nThere are  2 airports in Warsaw – WAW (Okęcie Chopin Airport)\, and WMI (Warsaw-Modlin)\, we recommend landing at WAW which is bigger and it is closer to the city center\, WMI is located about 50 minutes from the city center and it’s more complicated to get to the train station. There are also airports in Poznan\, Wroclaw\, Krakow\, and Gdansk. \n\n\n\n\nHow to get to Olsztyn\, by car?\nYou can travel by bla bla car\, but remember that drivers often post their offers only 2 – 3 days before the ride. Here is the list of paid highways: \n\n\n\n\nA1 between Rusocin and Nowa Wieś (152 km)\n\n\n\nA2 between Konin and Stryków (99 km) and Konin and Świecko (255km)\n\n\n\nA4 between Kraków and Katowice (61 km) and Wrocław and Sośnica (160 km)\n\n\n\n\nYou pay by the distance traveled at the gates. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nPartners and sponsors\n\n\nWydział Geografii i Studiów Regionalnych Uniwersytetu WarszawskiegoFundacja Uniwersytetu WarszawskiegoUniwersytet Warmińsko-Mazurski w OlsztynieWydział Geoinżynierii Uniwersytetu Warmińsko-Mazurskiego w OlsztynieInstytut Gospodarki Przestrzennej i GeografiibmreloECO GiSSztorm GrupaGminny Ośrodek Kultury w PieckachLampugaJacobs\n\n\nFollow us for the latest updates\n\n\n\nFacebook\n\nInstagram\n\nhttps://open.spotify.com/playlist/64ky4Ycgrux48Rm0rRe489?si=kfaF4UzjRtynb_k427XsCg\n\n\n\nDid not find what you are looking for? \n\n\n\nWrite your question in comments section below!

SUMMARY:Spring Mapathon
DESCRIPTION:To celebrate the summer semester and that COVID-19 cases are dropping\, we are excited to bring back an in-person Mapathon! We will join the Humanitarian OpenStreetMap Team in its efforts to map unmapped places vulnerable to disaster across the world. \n\n\n\nFor this event\, EGEA Bonn collaborates with the Geography Student Council of Uni Bonn and students of the United Nations University in Bonn. This will be an excellent opportunity for EGEAns interested in disaster management and the United Nations University Masters program in Bonn. The event will be held at the Geozentrum Ü9\, starting at 6:30 pm but joining online via Zoom will also be possible. We will be creating digital maps of a vulnerable or affected area using the services provided by MissingMaps and the Humanitarian OpenStreetMap Team (HOT-area). This is done with user-friendly software that requires no previous mapping\, GIS\, or remote sensing skills. Everyone is welcome\, and we will provide support to first-time mappers and snacks. \n\n\n\nPlease RSVP so we can provide you with directions to the event and the zoom link.We are looking forward to welcoming you to a special Mapathon and celebrating the spring together. \n\n\n\nLove\, \n\n\n\nEGEA Bonn
