Now\, inspired by this triumph\, we’re thrilled to announce our next big venture: The Polar Express. \n\n\n\nWith The Polar Express\, we aim to raise the bar even higher. This time\, we’re taking our participants to the stunning Arctic North\, where they will experience the magic of the Northern Lights in a setting like no other. Our journey will be both a thrilling adventure and a unique opportunity to immerse oneself in nature’s most spectacular sights and activities. \n\n\n\nThroughout the journey\, participants will have multiple chances to engage in exciting Arctic pursuits: from ice climbing up frozen cliffs to hiking across snow-laden trails\, and even the rare chance to try ice fishing & catch some mooses. This adventure will also allow participants to get to know two key EGEA entities\, fostering connections and cultural exchanges in this extraordinary setting. \n\n\n\nIn addition to the main activities\, we have curated special gatherings and excursions\, ensuring every participant can discover the wonders of the Arctic in the most exhilarating and memorable way possible. The Polar Express is more than an event. It’s an unforgettable experience that blends nature\, exploration\, and EGEA’s spirit of adventure into one. \n\n\n\nImpressions\n\n\n\n\n\nAttention!\n\n\n\nAs you prepare for The Polar Express journey above the Arctic Circle\, it’s essential to be ready for extreme cold weather. Temperatures can drop below -25°C\, so dressing appropriately and planning ahead is crucial. Here are some tips: \n\n\n\n\nLayer up: Wear thermal underlayers\, insulating mid-layers (like fleece or wool)\, and a high-quality\, windproof\, insulated outer layer.\n\n\n\nProtect extremities: Insulated gloves\, a thick hat that covers your ears\, and thermal socks are key. DESCRIPTION:*Dates might change slightly \n\n\n\nAbout the Event\n\n\n\nThere have been many events in the last few years since the pandemic came to a halt. The  vast majority of them were centered around traveling to a certain place\, spending a few nights in an accommodation and enjoying a program tailored around the location the event was taking place at.  \n\n\n\nHeavily inspired by Events like the Trans-Siberian Railway or TTT we thought about a new kind of Venture unlike the Weekends and Congresses everybody got used to. The idea  to travel across Europe meeting new people has always been a core value of EGEA and the “Orient Express” will be a new approach to boost it even further.  \n\n\n\nFollowing the steps of Agatha Christies famous novel we plan on taking you on a long journey starting from the splendour of Budapest to the vast city of Bucharest\, the illustrious bulgarian capital and all the way to the burstling city of Istanbul. It will be the first EGEA event to cross over to another continent. \n\n\n\nThe passengers of the EGEA train will have to opportunity to learn about the culture\, history and cuisine of four different countries in one single trip. For every city we created a small program to make the most out of your stay there. But that does not mean that passengers cant bring in their own ideas on what to see and do. \n\n\n\nTo make this event unforgettable\, were in need of unforgettable people. To make sure that you will be one of them\, we created an anonymous application process focused on the qualities our passengers should bring on a trip like this. \n\n\n\nThe participant fee covers all trains taken from Budapest to Istabul\, the accomodations in every city plus program expenses (Museums or Monuments). Everything else needs to be paid by the participants themseves\, so make sure plan in some money for food and souvenirs. \n\n\n\nPossible Route \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nPArticipant fee\n\n\n\n299 € \n\n\n\nRegistration\n\n\n\nPlease fill out the following docs and sign up via the RSVP button for a succesfull registration.
