SUMMARY:Hessian Weekend Vol. 3
DESCRIPTION:Introduction \n\n\n\nAfter the successful first two Hessian Weekends in 2020 and last year\, as well as the Bendelux Weekend in 2022 –We’ll invite you once more to the beautiful Edersee! If you don’t know anything about this lake and Hessia:Hessia is one of the 16 federal states of Germany and located in the center of the country. The Edersee is the second biggest reservoir\, and in the North of the state\, which is one of the most remote places in Germany. It is part of the Kellerwald National Park\, so there is a lot of nature and forests to explore! So join us to learn more about our distinct Hessian culture\, nature and food and our favorite drink: Apple Wine! \n\n\n\nThe event will take place on August 7th until August 10th at the Edersee Sports and Study Center of the Philipps-Universität Marburg. Since we are only 20 meters away from a lake you should definitely pack your swimming trunks and sunglasses! \n\n\n\nOrganisers\n\n\n\n\n\nLocation\n\n\n\n\n\nHow to get to the Location \n\n\n\nBasically you have two options to arrive. Either you come by car to the above address of the Sport- und Studienheim Edersee of the Philipps-Universität Marburg. There will be enough parking spaces at the accommodation\, but we recommend you to do some carpooling (there will be an excel for this). The second possibility is to travel by train to the train station “Vöhl Herzhausen“. Be careful! It could be that you have to press a stop button on the train otherwise it might happen it won’t stop. From the train station you can have a nice hike to the accommodation (50min next to the lake) or order a “Bus-Taxi (AST)” \n\n\n\nShuttle transports are only offered in emergencies on the day of arrival. Waiting 30min for the bus is not an emergency ;). \n\n\n\nOf course you can also arrive by bike at the accommodation if you want to be very Eco friendly. \n\n\n\nIf you have further questions you can ask us in the Whatsapp group or write a mail to marburg@egea.eu \n\n\n\nParticipaNt Fee\n\n\n\n\n\nRegistration \n\n\n\nRegistration is over now! We will soon inform erveryone if they got a spot. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n  \n\n\n\n\nPictures of the Accommodation \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nProgram \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nExcursions \n\n\n\n\n\nGuided Tour through the “Kellerwald-Edersee” National Park (10-12km\, 5-6h) \n\n\n\nFor the excursion – last year’s hike around the lake was very popular and we’ll do it again! The tour starts at the car park “Strieder-Eiche” and walk from the Asel Bay to the “Katzenberg” (Cat Mountain). Where you will have a magnificent view of the Edersee. From there the path will get more narrow and harder to climb while we will continue your journey to the “Lindenberg”. The following path will be very overgrown\, and the “Edersee” only appears through the treetops just in a few places. Your last attraction point will be the “Hünselburg” with the remains of medieval ramparts.During the hike you will find a rare flora and a lot of different types of stones. At one point you will also see a landslide\, which will be avoided via a secured path. \n\n\n\nIf you’re looking for a more relaxing day\, there is a small amusement park nearby\, as well as the huge dame we’ll visit. \n\n\n\nAfter last years success of the Offenbach Night\, this year’s theme party will be called the “Frankfurt Night”\, pretty obvious\, right? Frankfurt is Hessian’s largest city and the financial capital of Germany. You can find the stock market\, as well as the European Central Bank. That means there are a lot of people in suits and dresses\, like proper High Society. But be careful: if you find yourself in Frankfurt\, stay away from the Central Station! \n\n\n\nMore pieces of information will come in the future. The plan might slightly change\, there could be different excursions or leisure activities – but we will keep you updated. \n\n\n\nLeisure Activities\n\n\n\nYoga \n\n\n\nDo you want to relax from the pressure of everyday life? Then our yoga leisure activity is the best way to help you. \n\n\n\nVolleyball / Soccer \n\n\n\nIf you want to play a match of beach volleyball or football\, register. Here you can not only do some sports but also prove your skills or improve them with the help of our leisure coaches. \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nFree Time Activities\n\n\n\nStand UP Paddle \n\n\n\nHave you always wanted to paddle standing up? At the Hessian Weekend you have the opportunity to use our SUPs for free during the whole day. \n\n\n\nFloristic Scavenger Hunt \n\n\n\nOur alligator Arne is a huge fan of the traditional hessian green sauce\, but he doesn’t have all the ingredients for it. Can you help him and find all 7 ingredients at lake edersee? \n\n\n\nPacking list \n\n\n\nLunch boxWater bottleName tag keychainsuitable footwearswimweartowelscomforter covers/ sleeping bagsslippersWeatherproof clothingSunscreen \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nIf you have further questions you can ask us in the Whatsapp group or write a mail to marburg@egea.eu

SUMMARY:Baltic weekend'25: Swamp edition
DESCRIPTION:  \n\n\n\n\n\n\nWe are excited to announce the return of the legendary Baltic Weekend in Lithuania! After last year’s twist with the Baltic Weekend in Latvia\, we are back with an even bigger surprise this year! \n\n\n\nFollowing the huge success of our swamp-related activities at NBRC 2024 (*cough cough* extreme hike and Shrek evening)\, we have decided to embrace this concept once again. This year\, we are once again including swamp hiking in our activities. \n\n\n\nOver the four days (!)\, we will have a swamp hike\, cultural activities\, and other events associated with Baltic Weekend. Our accommodation is located in the Molėtai municipality\, just 100 km from Vilnius. Molėtai is famous for its lakes\, forests\, and other beautiful elements of the natural landscape. \n\n\n\nThe event that you’ve all been waiting for is taking place at a homestead called Pas Juzi (55.3807927\, 25.3223197 ) — a charming countryside retreat surrounded by vast forests and open meadows. The property offers 26 sleeping places\, so you’d better grab your tickets quickly! It also features a large outdoor terrace with a fireplace\, a traditional wood-fired sauna\, and an outdoor hot tub\, all providing comfort and relaxation in a natural setting. With spacious indoor areas and plenty of outdoor space\, we are going to be hosting an unforgettable weekend full of connection\, good vibes\, and moments to remember. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nHomestead “Pas Juzi”\, Bajorai\, Molėtai

Every EGEA experience is different\, some people like certain aspects more than others and that’s totally okay\, because an EGEA event (like this one) has a lot of aspects to offer!Q: My English is not that good\, will I be able to fit in?A: The key to learning a language is practicing\, and most EGEAns don’t have English as a mother tongue\, so everybody will make an effort to understand you and be patient. Besides\, we’re sure your English is better than you thinkQ: I have some information I need the orgateam to know\, how do I tell them?A: Some time after you register for the event\, we will sent a participant form for more information about you (eg. allergies\, if you want to sleep in a same-gender room\, …) so you can let us know there. SUMMARY:Reality Check: a Journey through Ukraine
DESCRIPTION:Reality Check: A Journey Through Ukraine \n\n\n\nWe invite you to a unique journey that will reveal the reality of life in Ukraine beyond the headlines. This is not just a trip — it’s an opportunity to experience what it means to live through constant challenges. \n\n\n\nDuring the journey\, we will visit two cities — Lviv and Kyiv\, witness the aftermath of russian aggression\, see how volunteerism is developing\, and discover what drives Ukrainian youth today. \n\n\n\nThis journey will reshape your perception of Ukraine\, revealing its vivid contrasts: bravery\, resilience\, and the drive for freedom.  \n\n\n\n📆 November 5-9 \n\n\n\nMaximum number of participants: 15 \n\n\n\nJoin us in exploring Ukraine and experiencing its heart ❤️ \n\n\n\nPROGRAM \n\n\n\nDay 1: Lviv\, Story of the Past \n\n\n\nThe first day begins with an introduction to Lviv — a city rich in history. In addition to the most fascinating tourist spots\, we dive into places where history intertwines with present-day realities. You’ll visit sites of missile strikes\, a modular town housing internally displaced people who fled the war\, and together we’ll help weave camouflage nets for Ukrainian defenders. The day will conclude with an evening program in the city center. \n\n\n\nDay 2: Lviv\, Glimpse into the Future \n\n\n\nOn the second day\, you’ll get a glimpse into the future of a country rebuilding from destruction. A visit to the National Rehabilitation Center Unbroken will show how people are being helped back to life. You’ll also explore Urban Camp — this is a community center and housing for internally displaced families in Lviv. We’ll conclude with a reflection session over pizza\, followed by an evening program. Night transfer by train to Kyiv. \n\n\n\nDay 3: Kyiv\, The capital of steadfast \n\n\n\nIn the morning\, we will be greeted by the capital of Ukraine — Kyiv. Today\, we will have a city tour\, visit the revitalized space of Unit City\, and meet local residents whose homes were affected by missile strikes. After exploring cultural and historical points\, we’ll end the evening with a relaxed dinner and free time for reflection. \n\n\n\nDay 4: Bucha\, the scars of war \n\n\n\nToday we’ll travel to Bucha\, a town near Kyiv that endured russian occupation. There\, you’ll witness the scars of destruction and see how the town is rebuilding today. We’ll also take part in a volunteer initiative. The day will conclude with dinner and an evening program back in Kyiv\, offering a chance to relax and reflect. \n\n\n\nDay 5: Kyiv\, Hugs and Kisses \n\n\n\nOur final day in Kyiv\, a walk through interesting locations and saying goodbye to new meetings somewhere in Europe. \n\n\n\nAccomodation: \n\n\n\nThere will be 2 hostels\, where you’ll live (one in Lviv and one in Kyiv). Here\, some photos: \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nHostel in Lviv (photo 1)\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nHostel in Lviv (photo 2)\n\n\n\nHostel in Kyiv (photo 1)\n\n\n\nHostel isn Kyiv (photo 2)\n\n\n\nHow to get to us? \n\n\n\nYou can get to Ukraine by bus or by train (no planes!!!). SUMMARY:EGEA Train Orient Express Edition
DESCRIPTION:*Dates might change slightly \n\n\n\nAbout the Event\n\n\n\nThere have been many events in the last few years since the pandemic came to a halt. The  vast majority of them were centered around traveling to a certain place\, spending a few nights in an accommodation and enjoying a program tailored around the location the event was taking place at.  \n\n\n\nHeavily inspired by Events like the Trans-Siberian Railway or TTT we thought about a new kind of Venture unlike the Weekends and Congresses everybody got used to. The idea  to travel across Europe meeting new people has always been a core value of EGEA and the “Orient Express” will be a new approach to boost it even further.  \n\n\n\nFollowing the steps of Agatha Christies famous novel we plan on taking you on a long journey starting from the splendour of Budapest to the vast city of Bucharest\, the illustrious bulgarian capital and all the way to the burstling city of Istanbul. It will be the first EGEA event to cross over to another continent. \n\n\n\nThe passengers of the EGEA train will have to opportunity to learn about the culture\, history and cuisine of four different countries in one single trip. For every city we created a small program to make the most out of your stay there. SUMMARY:Hessian Weekend Vol. 2
DESCRIPTION:Introduction \n\n\n\nGude\, as we say in Hessia\, \n\n\n\nBut what exactly is this Hessia? Good thing you asked! \n\n\n\nFor all cultural lowbrows in the world: Hessia is one of the 16 German federal states and is located in the centre of Germany. We are also the home of Apple Wine\, Bembels and the starting point of the racoon invasion of Europe. In fact\, raccoons originally came from North America but in 1934 the first raccons were released at the Edersee for hunting purposes. Now racoon are the menace of european housing. \n\n\n\nIf you want to find out more about Hessia\, Apple Wine and raccoons\, prepare yourself for an exciting weekend with EGEA Marburg and our raccoon Pedro at the Edersee. The event will take place on July 25-28 at the Edersee Sports and Study Centre of the Philipps-Universität Marburg. \n\n\n\nIf you have further questions you can ask us in the Whatsapp group or write a mail to marburg@egea.eu \n\n\n\nParticipaNt Fee\n\n\n\n\n\nRegistration \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n  \n\n\n\n\nPictures of the Accommodation \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nProgram \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nExcursions \n\n\n\n\n\nGuided Ranger Tour through the “Kellerwald-Edersee” National Park (10-12km\, 5-6h) \n\n\n\nThe tour starts at the car park “Strieder-Eiche” and walk from the Asel Bay to the “Katzenberg” (Cat Mountain). Where you will have a magnificent view of the Edersee. From there the path will get more narrow and harder to climb while we will continue your journey to the “Lindenberg”. The following path will be very overgrown\, and the “Edersee” only appears through the treetops just in a few places. Your last attraction point will be the “Hünselburg” with the remains of medieval ramparts.                 \n\n\n\nDuring the hike you will find a rare flora and a lot of different types of stones. At one point you will also see a landslide\, which will be avoided via a secured path. \n\n\n\nThere will be 1-2 other big excursions. More informations coming soon! \n\n\n\nLeisure Activities\n\n\n\nYoga \n\n\n\nDo you want to relax from the pressure of everyday life? SUMMARY:Polish Weekend 2023
DESCRIPTION:  \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nPolish Weekend is an event arranged by polish entities in their own country. Connecting local traditions with modern tourism may be a great chance for the development of this region\, and you can be a part of it! In the theoretical part\, participants would get acquainted with the most important traditions of Slavs\, especially those related to the region where the event will take place. Customs and their impact on the current cultural landscape of Masuria will be presented. Then the participants in the practical part would focus on the possibilities of promoting Masurian culture in modern tourism. Their task would be to develop an idea for a regional product/event that would refer to the Slavic tradition. The outcome of this workshop will also be sent to local authorities as our contribution to the local community. During the practical part participants will come up with four scenarios of how this type of farming can develop in this region. Ready scenarios will be sent to local authorities\, as our contribution to the local community. \n\n\n\n\n\nThe impact of the Pleistocene Glaciations on the Natural Environment of Masuria\nKLAUDIA KURPIOS\, EGEA WARSAW \n\n\n\n\nThe Masurian region is known not only for its lakes\, but also for its interesting\, very varied terrain. If you want to find out how the glaciers period shaped its area and what happened to it because of them\, or if you are a big fan of geomorphology\, “The impact of glaciers on the natural environment of the Masurian region” workshop is for you. During the presentation there will be a short introduction to the topic\, when we’re gonna talk about basic terms\, and then we will discuss glaciers themselves\, what landforms they brought and what is happening with them nowadays. The practical part will contain a short trip around our accommodation to see how it looks in this area\, we’ll do some measurements\, and after that we will try to draw maps of it. \n\n\n\n\n\nReal Estate Management in Poland and Geodesy in Practice\nWIKTORIA RYCZKO\, EGEA OLSZTYN \n\n\n\n\nThe goal of this workshop is to introduce concepts in the field of geodesy and real estate management in Poland. If you’ve seen tutorials on Tik Tok or Instagram on how to improve your photos\, after this training you won’t need them anymore! Training is the perfect opportunity for all the EGEAns who want their travel reports to be the best they can be. \n\n\n\n\n\nProcrastination\, no thanks!\nKAMIL PUCEK\, EGEA WARSAW \n\n\n\n\nA topic as old as the hills\, but this slogan entered the mainstream around 2017. Many of us simply call it laziness. In this day and age of ‘productivity’ we are exposed to a lot of pressure from our surroundings and the content coming at us primarily from the internet. The short training I am going to conduct will be a kind of knowledge pill addressing the issue of procrastination and\, above all an opportunity to learn some tools to change our own self-esteem – especially in the aspect of analysing our activities. \n\n\n\n\n\nBody movement\nZUZA PYSKATY\, EGEA WARSAW \n\n\n\n\nIf you love to dance or on the contrary – you stay away from densflor at parties – this is the perfect workout for you!! The exercise you will be doing is for every level of movement skills\, so don’t wait\, just open up to new possibilities \n\n\n\n\n\nCatch your wood\nOLIWIA BUŁCZYŃSKA\, EGEA WARSAW \n\n\n\n\nDo you want to spend time creatively and make your own souvenir of the trip? Then the training \, “catch your wood” will be perfect for you! During the class we will make our own souvenirs out of wood: painting on it and pasting with patterns from napkins (decoupage). We will burn the inscriptions of your choice on each work to make it as personalized as possible! In addition\, everyone will be able to choose whether they want their wood to be in the form of a magnet or perhaps to hang on the wall. During the training\, I will tell you about how interesting material wood is and how you can creatively use it and even make money from it! Remember this is a training for everyone regardless of skill! The only thing you need to take with you the willingness to do something fun and new! \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nEVENT PROGRAM\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\ntransport options & 1st day info\n\n\n\n\nAccommodation details & Opening Ceremony:\nOśrodek Wczasowy BĘSIABęsia 21\, 11-311 KolnoPoland \n\n\n\nOPENING CEREMONY\n\n\n\nUniversity of Warmia and Mazury in Olsztyn15 Romana Prawocheńskiego St.\, 10-724 Olsztyn\, Poland \n\n\n\nTo get to the location of the opening ceremony from the train station or city center you can choose public transport: bus 103\, 109 or tram. \n\n\n\nWe will start with a quick tour of the beautiful UWM campus at 10 am\, which includes a lake\, beaches and parks.
