How to reach us?
As the EMRC 2020 Opening Ceremony will be held in Pula (see “Location – Opening Ceremony”), we need to provide you with some basic information about possible travel options which could help you while organising your trip to Croatia. Keep in mind that the bus transport from Pula to the congress venue is organised by us and is included in the participant fee!
Travelling with other EGEAns is always amazing, so we opened a FORUM where you can find your travel partners, but also discuss different travel options with other people and ask questions regarding your travels to EMRC 2020. The exact location of Opening Ceremony in Pula will be announced next week, so stay tuned!
TRAVELLING TO PULA BY CAR
We can just tell you that Croatian highway system is well-organised, so discuss your trip with other EGEAns, make a small car-family, find your route to this LOCATION, and see you in Pula. There will be plenty of free parking space on both opening ceremony and congress locations!
TRAVELLING TO PULA BY BUS
There are many bus connections to Pula from different European cities, so check if your city is one of those. If not, the best option for you is to travel to Rijeka, Zagreb or Zadar and take a bus to Pula from one of those cities. FlixBus and GetByBus are the best ticket providing operators that you can use in Croatia, so use those two while searching for tickets from all the mentioned Croatian cities.
GOOD TO KNOW: If you are buying a ticket online, you can use the student discount price, but bring your student card in case somebody asks you to show it. If you are buying a ticket at the bus station, also ask for a student discount and show your student card (doesn’t have to be ISIC).
Rijeka to Pula
It takes around 2 hours to travel from Rijeka to Pula and the ticket price is around 10€ (depends on student discount).
Zagreb to Pula
It takes around 5 hours to travel from Zagreb to Pula and the ticket price is around 20€ (depends on student discount).
Zadar to Pula
It takes around 7 hours to travel from Zadar to Pula and the ticket price is around 30€ (depends on student discount).
TRAVELLING TO PULA BY PLANE
EasyJet, RyanAir, EuroWings, Lufthansa, Norwegian, Transavia…You name it – we have it! Croatia airport choices are only limited by the area of the country you are visiting. You can choose between Rijeka, Zadar, Zagreb, Split, Dubrovnik and Osijek, but we can recommend Rijeka, Zadar and Zagreb, as those airports are the closest to Pula.
Pula Airport is the international airport, located 6 km from the city centre. There is a shuttle bus which takes you to the city centre and the price for it is 30 HRK (4 €). You can check the timetable HERE.
Rijeka Airport is the international airport, located on the island of Krk, 17 km from Rijeka. There is also a shuttle bus which takes you to the city centre of Rijeka and the price for it is 50 HRK (6,70 €). You can check the timetable HERE.
Zadar Airport is the international airport, located in Zemunik Donji, 8 km from Zadar. There is also a shuttle bus which takes you to the city centre of Zadar and the price for it is 25 HRK (3,40 €). You can check the timetable HERE.
