Excursion 1: The heritage of military areas
This excursion will take you to old military-purpose infrastructure in the area of eastern Brdy range. You’ll have a chance to visit remains of former military missile base which has been recently redeveloped in a brand-new technology and research centre. Furthermore, you might also get the chance to visit a still-working military area in Jince from inside, i.e. go behind the fence and inside the area for an excursion (please note that the excursion is conditioned by the official permission of Czech Army and we can only try to obtain it as soon as we know the list of potential visitors). In case that we won’t get the permision, we will show you the village of Jince and the still-working military area from outside.
Excursion 2: A touristic excursion + marking
Tourism is a very popular free time activity in Czechia, especially in highland areas such as the Brdy range. Plus there’s a meteorology rainfall radar nearby and you might get a chance to see and visit it! (please note that the visit there is conditioned by the official permission of Czech Army and we can only try to obtain it as soon as we know the list of potential visitors). If we don’t get the permission, we’ll arrange for you a touristic workshop – the official path-markers will tell you what is it like to mark trails and how to do it. And you’ll even get a chance to make your own mark! Either or so, this is a walking excursion and good walking skills and good physical condition necessary.
Excursion 3: Exploring the City of Příbram
The biggest town in the area is Příbram. It’s the third biggest town in the Central Bohemian region and it has a rich mining history. Silver in middle age and uranium in the times of communism have been quarried here and there are plenty of old mining areas, museums and mining expositions. In this excursion you’ll visit the old mining area, the monastery complex and other monuments in the town and then you’ll visit the town hall and discuss with town representatives the process and controversies of closing down a military area.
Excursion 4: Tourism in the mountains of Brdy
Czechia is a paradise for tramps and walkers and marked routes are almost everywhere. However, the area of Brdy range was only open for public recently so there have been only few routes marked by now. But don’t worry, you’ll have a special chance to visit the hearth of Brdy range with its highest mountain and several former shooting ranges or target areas. On this guided touristic tour you’ll walk through the heart of the mountain range near its highest mountain (and maybe even climb it!). Please note that this excursion is a touristic one and that walking skills, physical condition and proper equipment are essential.
Excursion 5: Town of Vlašim with a walking trip
This excursion is not only for the fans of military and shooting stuff! You’ll get a unique chance to see how munition is being made in Sellier & Bellot company in Vlašim. You’ll also see a city centre and a famous chateau park with unique pavilions and bridges. And because Czechia is a kingdom of trampers, you’ll go for a short walk to the Velký Blaník mountain where, according to a legend, a group of knights is sleeping and will wake up and come to help the Czech folk in times of despair. The surrounding of the mountain is a smallest protected landscape area of Czechia. There will be some walking, of course, but not much, just about five kilometers. However, walking equipment and proper shoes are necessary.
